Q: Can the fuse be changed to a higher one? 30 amps to be specific.

I don't think so. If you look at the product description it says the wire is 16 AWG and is 16 amp. If you look at the closeup of the fuse holder it indicates there is a 10 amp fuse in it. I would think that the max fuse would be 15 amp. If you put in a 30 amp fuse the wire would be overloaded before the fuse burns.

There is nothing in this part that can physically prevent a vehicle from starting by itself. It would have to be a crossed wire or short somewhere in the connections. The eyelets should be connecting directly to the battery posts. If another vehicle is available to try the part with you can confirm that the issue is isolated to the vehicle or the connector. The GC018 is only 24" long but we also offer the GC019 12ft extension cord, which would likely be long enough to make the desired connection.
