Doubles as a party prop
During a bachelorette party I was on, a restaurant brought out this wine pitcher and challenged us to pour the wine into our mouth from it, but to slowly extend our arms and see how far from our mouth we could get. It was SO fun!I ended up purchasing this for the bride’s bridal shower gift. Many of the other bridal shower guests thought it was a bong at first…

Couldn't be happier!
Let me start with how worried I was about the condition this would arrive in. I've never ordered anything this seemingly delicate. This came SO well protected, it would have had to of been run over for it to get damaged. Now, to the important part. I ordered this for a Yule gift to my sister. We had a moment of nostalgia a few months back remember our mother and her friends playing a game of sorts with a vessel that looked like this. Neither of us knew the "game" or what this would be called. All we knew is that now that we were bonafide grown ups - we wanted a chance to play! After some digging.. I found similar things, but not just the right one. Then I stumbled upon this one - it's exactly like the one I remembered. The price seemed like a STEAL compared to any others I could find anywhere - but those others weren't just like this one. Upon arrival, this beauty was in perfect condition and was exactly (and more) what I had hoped for. It's very sturdy, very attractive and all around perfect. I don't remember the last time I've been this excited about a gift - but I can tell you, our holiday will no doubt be a blast. I highly recommend this item!

Great for Parties
Love this thing. My fiance's and my favorite restaurant in DC (Estadio) serves drinks in porrones, and we always enjoy taking friends who are new to the area and ordering one. It's actually more fun in your own house because you're less worried about strangers seeing you pour alcohol all over your face. Just order one. They're awesome. For those who are new to the concept, check YouTube for "beber de un porrón." The basic concept is that you pull out the cork and pour in whatever drink you want. Add about as much as the amount of wine shown in the picture for this product. Keeping the porron uncorked, pick it up by the top tube and pour the drink straight into your mouth through the spout (without touching it with your lips). It's basically an exercise in trust. The faster you pour, the more accurate it will be and the less likely you are to spill. The spout's opening is so small that you can actually hold the porron at full arm's length and keep the drink going straight into your mouth without any spills. The trickiest part is stopping pouring. As with the pour itself, if you hesitate, you're done for. Cut it off firmly and quickly, all at once, and you shouldn't spill much.

Party favorite
I originally became aware of these while working at a wine store and running a special feature on Catalan wines. The operation is relatively simple: you pick it up and tilt it towards your face and then it sprays a thin stream of wine directly into your mouth. A little flick of the wrist and the stream is interrupted and you pass it to the next person. In effect however it takes a decent amount of practice and dedication and a lot of people end up just covered in the stuff, which is of course extremely entertaining. I do still get a few comments now and then about how it looks like a bong or even a less sanitary sort of hospital contrivance, but I assure them that it is exactly what I say it is. I had used porrons in the past, obviously, before I bought my own, and I will say that the included cork does help. The cork makes the wine pour more slowly, so when the bottle is more full, the stream is easier to maneuver into your mouth. It also helps in not pouring wine back out the top all over your face, which has happened more than a few times when it is over-tilted. Once it's been emptied to a fair degree, the cork can be removed and the stream strengthened. The construction on the thing itself is solid, and while it's a glass bottle with a thin glass spout, proper care and attention can easily ensure that not too much trauma can be enacted with it or upon it.

Don’t like green glass look
I would have liked it better if the glass was not greenish that cheapens the look. Not worth the money. Found something with a non-green glass look and costs the same

A great porron, though a bit large
Love this classic Spanish wine-drinking vessel. It's a great gift, and always a blast to use in social settings. Fill partway with wine, tip your head back, angle the spout toward your mouth, and extend your arm all the way up, all in one motion. It's a little messy the first few times!Construction was solid. Comes with a cheapie cork at the top that is stuck on by tape and left sticky residue. I just threw the cork away.My main complaint is that I wish the hole in the spout were WAY smaller - it's pretty large for a porron, and that's a lot of wine to be flowing so quickly!
