I likethe book. Details of kanji sentence and how to use it is well explained. I learned some new meaning and kanji from this book

Not that many English reviews can be found so far, so I thought I'll share my thoughts.2 points are really well done.1. The book uses a slightly bigger fontsize than other books in the same pocket format. This makes it easier to read.2. The audio recordings are of great quality and I just love hearing them speak.The installation of the audio app was not that hard. But keep in mind that it is in Japanese as well. And some part of the installation and using it requires a higher level than N4 for sure.AT the end of the installation the app says basicly that it is downloading the phrases and that you can use it when it's done.I am not sure I can make a playlist of phrases I want to hear. Luckily it is continuous play. And you can even slow audio playback down or speed it up.I am talking a lot about the audio because that is the part that is most usefull to me..Am I able to understand what is said? If I do than I understand the vocabulary. And meanwhile I will hear some nice grammar points.The very first sentence ends with ところです。and that at the moment is something I understand but it doesn't come easy to me. So I sort of hope that listening to the audio will enforce that grammar point to me as well. As many others. For example second sentence ends with 降りそうです。I do think that the translations are not 100% word for word and that is fine as both languages have their own subtleties and ways of saying things.BTW the audio file is the new word and than the use of that word in a sentence. No translation which is great.Finally the book says 1500 N4 vocabulary and it stops just shy of 900 vocabulary points. I am pretty sure their math is correct but it sort of is misleading at the same time. The other 600 vocabulary might be used in example sentences but there is no way in telling.Anyway the book is great just because of the excellent voices that are used in the audio. It is a pleasure to listen too.

It’s not watered down with detail. Sometimes detail helps, but more times than not, too much detail confused you. Things start to make sense with the easy examples, and you start to understand the details without the explanations.

I like this book because it is very handy, you can bring or put it inside your bag because it’s a pocketbook size..

So I've been studying for awhile and completed the N5 book in this series. Although I can fluently read the N5 book I find it very difficult to read this one as the grammar introduced is heavy in the beginning. No only this I have found discrepancies between the N5 translations and the ones used in this book making it very confusing. Its almost as if a different writer wrote the different N levels.Anyway if you know your grammer and words mostly then it should be good for drills and review but don't think you can pick up this book after the N5 and get through.
