The product and does what it is supposded to do and a nice tool to have in the kitchen! I had a hard time filling it only because it was my first time using one of these. I wasn't sure if I was doing something wrong so I wrote into Customer Service to ask for some help. Cerine was fabulous and not only was very prompt in her reply, but answered my questions and gave me clear and specific instructions over email. I followed up with one more questions and again, she replied quickly and resolved my issues with ease. The company is great and you can definitely tell that customer service is informed, interested in helping, and cares about your experience. I don't write reviews often, but when I have a great experience, it is nice to be able to speak to that. 5 stars - would buy againb. Thanks again, Cerine!

The job is so much easier when you have the right tools. I was so scared to get a touch, but this thing is amazing. It's so easy to fill and it is so easy to use. One nob and one button. This thing is light weight and fits great in my hand great. It's easy to control the flame and adjust with ease. Great price point and works like a dream.

This torch in itself is great. It works well and is easy to use. However, filling it is a problem. The fill nozzle on this torch does not fit any standard butane bottle that I have found and I havent found an adapter inside a cap on a butane can that works well for this fill fitting on the torch. You CAN NOT get this torch filled more than halfway to the max line in the site glass on the torch. I have seen in the comments here that the seller has suggested filling the torch horizontally instead of vertically, I am telling you right now that turning it horizontal does not work any better than vertical, in fact i think it fills even less when you turn in horizontal. If you could actually fill this torch to its fill point it would be great. Instead, I have to add butane to this torch about every 4th time is use it. When I do use it it is usually only for about 30 seconds at a time. Fill valve blows, torch itself is greatOk - a few months later and I actually have come full circle. The fill valve works just fine. When you first start to fill it you are going to loose some fluid, you just need to adjust the can until a good connection is made with the fill valve and then it will fill right up. It does hold a surprising amount of fuel. Slow, steady pressure and tilt/rotate can until a good connection is made. I have been using the whip it premium butane to fill my torch. It seems to be the easiest that I have used so far.

The review will cover 2 aspects of my experience with JO CHEF. The first is the product itself, while the second is about the customer service. The product is very nice, and easy to use. Just make sure you use the right tip to fill it up. I would recommend using the JO CHEF butane fuel so you won't have an issue with refilling. Now , to the more pleasrable experiance . Upon receiving my unit, there was an email from the company asking about my experience. Unfortunately I believed that the unit that was sent to me was faulty (happens with any product). When i mentioned that in my reply and how frustrated I was getting the torch to work , I received the most apologetic reply and an offer to send me a new torch , free of charge and I wouldn't need to send the old one back. Few days and it was delivered . The unit worked amazingly . Bottom line . As there will always be many torches in the market , I doubt that any one will top JO CHEF customer service and their resilient effort to keep their clients satisfied and happy. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED ...

this is a good torch. substantial feel to it and a larger base to support it. the lock is a great feature, love that I can lock it & unlock it while holding it without fumbling. the knob on the back turns easily to adjust the flame. two small issues I've found but can work with them. 1. the flame adjustment knob is also how you turn off the torch. 2. when filling it with the butane it allows butane to leak out around the fill tip. followed directions to the letter to fill it & no matter what I did it would leak during filling. otherwise it's a good torch with a steady base. UPDATE: after trying to fill the torch again, the leak of butane was worse than the first time & when I gave up I could hear a hiss coming from the fill stem. I reached out to the company by email they responded in less than 24 hours. sent me a you tube link to view and see if I was possibly doing something wrong & stated they will take care of the issue confirming that customer service is a top priority. I was also told that if there was still a problem they would happily send me a new torch. my husband & I went to try again while following the video (which I had been doing it correctly all along) we even filled a lighter to insure the butane cans were not faulty. they were not. Bottom line let customer service know nothing worked, so they sent out a new torch right away. it arrived overnight! haven't tried the new torch yet will do that tomorrow. Another great thing I communicated with the same person from start to finish. Unlike so many companies that you reach out to & you end up with communication from sometimes multiple different people. IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A GOOD TORCH WITH EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE THIS IS THE TORCH FOR YOU!

We mostly use this for creme brûlée. Our old one was much smaller and just wore out. This one works great but a word of caution, if you just open it up and click the ignition the flame is huge. I recommend first time just to rotate the dial enough that you hear the first hiss of the gas and click it and go from there. We followed the instructions literally the first time, just opened it up and it was like a blowtorch. Excellent product but handle with care.
