Is this basically Jenga?

This is a copy of the original trademarked game made from much lighter pine wood, not the hardwood used in the authentic Jenga® GIANT™ games, and subject to far more wear and tear as a result.

What is the purpose of the two dice?

Not sure about the dice. My grandsons take turns and when a block makes the tower or part of the tower topple they lose a turn. I don't think the dice are necessary.
