Very good batteries.

Reading reviews about the difficulty of getting to the batteries led me to conclude the purchasers must all be physically disabled. I would like to take this opportunity to apologize to all I had maligned. I first got the cardboard part separated from the plastic discs holding the batteries. I realized there were 2 sections: the part holding the batteries and another disc retaining the batteries. This looked deceptively simple. Just separate the discs and the batteries will fall out. Well, the Chinese must have developed a super-duper glue because those discs were never going to separate. So, following the advice of others, I attacked the plastic with first, scissors, then wire cutters without success. Again, the Chinese must have developed a clear plastic as a substitute for Kevlar. Finally, after watching the video of a guy who successfully got his batteries out, I used a heavy duty utility knife with a good, sharp point to penetrate the plastic in the right location as shown in the video. Then, punching through the plastic at the next battery location and joining the 2 existing holes by several puches between them, I was finally able to do enough damage to the plastic to slightly bend up the part between the batteries. Continuing this around the part holding the batteries and bending up section by section, my batteries were free! Fortunately, I still had the container with 2 batteries left from another manufacturer so I filled the empty spots with these liberated batteries. So easy to get at these. Now, to see if the lifetime of these is sufficiently long for me to recover before I tackle the next "easy-open" package.

Very efficient

First of all you will need a band saw and a acetylene torch just to get the packaging open. Then when you insert the batteries you will find that they are just slightly too large. When you guess that the manufacturer knew what they were doing and you go ahead and close the door to the hearing aid. After you throw the remainder of the batteries in the trash you will find that other batteries will not make contact and you have a pair of useless hearing aids. $2,000 right in the crapper. I could not find the ikon that represents a minus 500 stars and I had to pick one star to be able to submit this review. There is nothing whatsoever in this product that is worthy of any stars.

1. The batteries are supposed to be 1.45V. Date of manufacture on the batteries is 12/2024 and today's date is 3/2/2025. I peeled off the cover and waited 2 minutes and took measurements. The voltage output averaged around 0.9v. Interesting they also claim a 3 year shelf life when these are only 3 months old at most.2. As many others have stated, the package is difficult to open. Each battery needs to be cut at the "crust" of each "pie slice section" (holding it upside down so tip of slice is center and crust is held upward so battery slides towards the tip). The space between the battery and the end of the plastic slice edge (pie crust) is only about 2 mm. So 6 cuts to remove all 6 batteries. #1 above is more important than #2. I would be fine with the battery removal hassle if the batteries put out the proper voltage when new (which they are) and lasted a decent amount of time.

As others have mentioned, these are extremely hard to get out of the package. If not careful, one can slice open their fingers. I was disappointed to read where all manufacturers are legally obligated to do this, but for those of us with arthritis in our fingers and no one to help, they are almost impossible to get out.I've also noticed that several of them, once installed in the hearing aid, only show 40% battery. Really, brand new out of the package and only 40%. Must just be a few duds. And advertising long brown tabs is a joke. These are not long, Duracell's are long, all others I've tried are stubby.I haven't had to buy hearing aid batteries for three years since they were part of my purchase of new aids, and they also had short stubby tabs.Manufacturers should take note that most people wearing hearing aids are elderly and many have other problems. The tabs should be long and the packaging easier to get them out while still being childproof.
