Perfect Blending Tool
I have just started working with pastel pencils again and I bought these blending sticks because I do not like using my fingers and the paper sticks were just not working for me. I love them. I use the sponge tip to blend base colors before I layer in details. I was afraid that the pastels would get imbedded in the sponge and transfer color where I did not want it to go .... but they don’t. I simply clean the sponge off on the palm of my hand between uses. I have drawn several pictures of birds in different colors and have not had to wash the sponges yet. I use the harder white tips for blending smaller more detailed areas. These will definitely be part of my pastel kit from now on.

Good for blending pencil, charcoal and pastels. Doesn't work with paints
I purchased this for my wife whose primary hobby is painting rocks. But she does a little sketching. on the sideWhen we tried them with paint and paint markers, we basically made a mess. With paint from a brush, the pen spreads or smears the paint. Sort of pushes it around with ineffective blending. With the paint markers, the paint dry's too fast.We then did some testing with a pencil sketch and the little pens worked as they should. Very good for developing shadow or creating a fade from dark to light. It more or less worked as it should. Both ends worked good. The white end is harder, and you can push harder. The soft end can be more subtle. As I explained about, my wife is primarily a painter and is always looking for tools for that craft. These were not so good. But she was able to experiment with them with some pencil line work and they perform very well with this medium.

Great results!
I have never used a blending sponge before. I've always used a stump or tortillon with my graphite drawings. I saw these sponges on TikTok and thought I'd give them a try. They make for an extremely seamless and smooth blend using graphite. I cannot speak for any other type of medium because I don't use anything else, but they really smooth out and even cover up those little white spots from paper texture. I do wish the smallest size was smaller for more detailed and smaller work, but all in all a good find.

Great!
The best applicators for soft pastels and blending for graphite as well. The shape and sizes are great for portraits in soft pastels, graphite and charcoal. Most blending tools are fragile and break, which is frustrating and impractical. These are solid, and I don't worry that they will break. I would love of they made the in even more sizes, especially small ones for fine details.

Black sponge comes out
Pretty good product for blending and shading, but the black sponge part has been coming out of some of them while gently blending with them. Can’t put it back in either, so that part is disappointing
