Can these be worn in summer or are they too hot?

They are made of fleece, so they do keep the feet toasty. Though, they'd be perfect for cool summer nights.

Are these secure for babies who like to take socks off?

My daughter also liked to take her socks off and eventually did learn how to undo the Velcro but these always stayed on her feet.
