Any reason why the capsule is not pullulan? (I don't eat the capsule anyway, but would like to know, just in case)

Dear cis, Thank you very much for your question! Pullulan is an edible, tasteless polymer, which is also used for the production of cellophane-like packaging films. It is not necessarily suitable as a capsule shell for food supplements, as it cannot be digested and is excreted by the body. This means that the capsule contents would not be absorbed into the body, or only to a limited extent. We use capsule shells made of hydroxypropylmethylcellulose (HPMC), which protect the capsule contents, but are water-soluble and therefore dissolve in the digestive tract, so that the contents can enter the body as intended.
