Have purchased the platform however when I place the platform in my right miter slot it’s too large the platform goes beyond the blade. Can I cut it?

Yes you can and should cut it. Because different saws may have different distances between the blade and the miter slot, Rockler designed the sled to be cut to allow for close tolerances to get tight, accurate joints.
