10 stars. I was looking for something for my home reading nook and stumbled across the wonderful set.

It's been a wonderful read and I've greatly enjoyed the information within these books, it's been so great I'll have to reread it again and again until the knowledge is burned within my mind. Very practical advice overall though if you're using an axe just spread your legs so that if you over swing it goes in between anything else is to weird or inconvenient.

I loved my set didnt put it down. I read the first then more into advanced and skimmed the others.The others compliment the first.If youre into survival and youre into bushcraft youll like this box set. It would definitely make a great gift.Dave knows alot and it shows. The books focus however mostly on Survival in the Eastern Woodlands so take note that these methods may need to be taylored to your area of hiking camping survival training ect.Theres a lot of information in these books. One thing I noted is that this is for BUSHCRAFT. So alot of things you would not have in a survival situation are mentioned in methods of survival. He focuses on his system and application of it with his set of tools and gear and how to apply those methods with that gear.Its a good read all of them compliment each other and Im glad I bought the box set vs only the 101 book.

As someone who knows very little about surviving in the wild or even just camping for that matter, I bought these to read at night before bed and have absolutely been loving them. They have all kinds of great beginner knowledge as well as more advanced survival skills. The only thing I don't like about the books is they desperately needed more illustrations. To me, the purpose of a book like this is to be able to bring it with you out into a place with no internet and be able to use it in a survival situation if need be. The book will go into detail about some complex topics doing its best to describe how to do things, but without any illustrations I'd be nervous to really rely on it for survival. Just a basic example, one section talks about the different types of common trees and what they're best used for. Why not include just a little drawing next to each one and include a drawing of each type of leaf? Just little things like that would have been cool. I love the books though. Definitely worth reading and buying!

All of these books are very easy reads and each one of them contains useful information that is approachable for even novices. I’d recommend this series to just about anyone interested in bushcraft. Would recommend.
