Q: How does the time set itself on this clock? via atomic clock? wifi? bluetooth?

It automatically sets itself for the eastern time zone. If you live anywhere else you set it once with your time zone, it will change to the correct time (assuming it can get the radio signal) and that is all you will have to do unless you move to a different time zone.

Q: How does it know the date and time when connected, i.e. how does it know what time zone the unit is physically in?

It is set to eastern time to start with. If you are in eastern time you just plug it in. Otherwise you have to set your time zone and you are good to go unless you move or if your area changes it laws regarding time zones.

Q: How long does the radio stay on when used as an alarm?

The radio will stay on for 60 minutes.

Q: will it charge a camera, rechargeable battery, glucometer, and display the time when doing this?

The time is always displayed on the front. My phone charges wirelessly when centered on the top. I’m not sure if it charges other devices wirelessly. It also has a USB plug in on the back and it continued to charge my phone wirelessly as well as my iPad when I plugged it in.
