Q: Is this similar or different to yamazaki ?

It's similar but I find the Hibiki sweeter to the Yamazaki 12 and 18. In my opinion it's on par with Yamazaki 12 and but not as good as Yamazaki 18, however not many whiskies are. If you like Yamazaki and the 18 is my favourite whisky, then you will like Hibiki. I treat Hibiki as my day to day whisky and always have a bottle in the collection and buy it a few times a year. It's highly recomended.
