Q: Can you upgrade to brighter lights

The LED-WP does come with 3 brightness levels; however, we will be sure to consider this feedback for the future.

Q: does this work with original hero?

I don't see why it would not. It uses the same type of Mount and the original hero is not any bigger

Q: Can you mount an Akaso v50 elite to this rig?

If it has a threaded port for tripod mount yes it will work

Q: Is it compatible with the GoPro Hero 9? in the description it says yes, while in the image it says no.

There are two versions of this. You want the larger of the two to work with a GoPro 9. I use mine with a GoPro 9 in a dive housing and there's plenty of room. Just make sure you check how well the lights mount when you get it. One of mine would barely get tight and I dove in the ocean and lost it.

very poor light brackets

very poor light brackets, I cannot get the lights to attach firmly and I haven't got in the water yet please don't buy this product its not fit for purpose as it is with cheap crappy light attachments.
