Well made and well loved
Well made sturdy book with ribbon bookmarks built in. My son has reread this multiple times and it lives in the car most of the time as a travel book.

Start of Metal Virus Arc + Tangle and Whisper, absolutely worth picking up
A good start to another arc, but also the inclusion of the Tangle and Whisper miniseries sets a precedent that you truly will get everything IDW has to offer for Sonic's adventures in the comics!

Great story, great art, great comic series
(Spoiler warning: I will spoil some stuff here. I don't recommend this review until you read the book yourself.)I have been enjoying reading through these so much. They're genuinely more fun to read than playing most Sonic games since Sonic Adventure 2 and I say that as someone who considers himself a big Sonic fan. The art is great, so many cute and nice moments of goofy character expressions or dynamic expressions during serious moments. It gets pretty action packed, but I was never lost on what's going on. The stories are so cool, I did not expect them to do basically a kid friendly zombie apocalypse story but they did and it gets surprisingly dire. It also continues the trend of giving lesser known or underutilized Sonic characters something to do in the story, which I very much appreciated. If I had to complain, I'd say that I think this one had less consistent flow to it than the first collection did. This seems to have been when they started doing more side stories to accompany the main story, like the Tangle & Whisper side story that goes on for about 5 issues and the little Rough and Tumble story. Everything is collected in order and they're very fun in my opinion, so it never feels like a waste of time. The Tangle & Whisper series in particular shows great character development between Tangle the Lemur and Whisper the Fox, who are the two IDW original characters that get the most spotlight (aside from maybe Dr. Starline who gets a proper introduction in this collection), and I really have grown to love both of them as much as I do the already established cast. Tangle has quickly become among my favorite Sonic characters ever, in fact. While I think the side stories are good, sometimes they cause a bit of tonal whiplash, going from this scary zombie apocalypse the heroes feel hopelessly outclassed by to something more mundane or silly like Rough and Tumble bumbling around in Eggman's old pyramid base.Nonetheless, I will definitely be avidly collecting these hardcovers as they release. Maybe I will buy some single issues or those smaller volume collections just so I can actually catch up, since, unfortunately, these huge hardcover books take a long time to release in comparison. Really enjoy this series and it's nice to have it in order so I don't need to look through reading guides to know where to start.

Zombie apocalypse story in Sonic the Hedgehog
This collection is a solid continuation of the IDW run. It’s definitely aimed at younger readers but older fans that grew up with the franchise can appreciate it too. There’s a great story in this that focuses on the new characters Tangle and Whisper. And the climax of the book is basically a zombie apocalypse story in the Sonic The Hedgehog universe. Never thought I’d read that…
