Overall a good buy. This is not meant for a lot of use/handling. But it’s a cute decoration or prop. The up/down part is kind of delicate and if intending to use often, I can see it breaking.

An excellent decorative piece. Probably not rugged enough to serve as an actual clapper board in the industry, but it sure looks like one. Ideal gift for those who like movies, or are involved in such entertainment.

This product is nice and sturdy. The quality is much better than I expected.

This is a nice, inexpensive prop whose quality matches the bargain price. The clapper has imperfections in the wood that were painted over and the wood has a rough finish on the edges. It is not worth the trouble of returning, but if you are looking for high quality, you may want to go for another option.

Bought this for the writer of a movie I produced. Did a little bit of altering to it, but was easy to erase a couple of things and then write in our names on the slate. Looks fantastic and is a great piece of wall decor now in his office.Advice I would give, if you need to erase anything on it (like the production company name on the top) sand over it before painting it. It will look 1000 times better if you do.Note: this is not a great on set movie slate. There are definitely better out there. But for a piece of art or decoration, it is perfect!
