Perfect for waffle cookies!
This has been a well-used item! We make waffle cookies and the smaller squares in the waffles make them so much better than a Belgian-style! I love that! The only thing that I would change about this is the creepy sounding waffle alert! LOL, it starts off high-pitched and then seems to slow down and get lower! It reminds me of the doorbell ringing scene in National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation (for those of you who have seen it).

More like a waffle steamer
I bought this waffle maker because it promised thin "American style" (not the thicker Belgian style) waffles. The first thing I noticed is that the hinge is very loose, allowing the top half of the waffle maker to wiggle quite a bit to either side. I didn't see any way to tighten it. The waffle maker does produce waffles that are the size I was hoping for but, even though I followed all of the instructions that accompanied the product and tried two different recipes, it consistently produced pale, floppy waffles. By cooking a waffle multiple times on max heat, I was able to get some color but it was still soft and droopy. I wanted to give the waffle maker a fair chance so I tried to contact the company for support but could only leave a message. I waited several days but didn't receive a call back so I returned it. I've since bought a cheap store-brand waffle maker and it makes wonderfully crisp waffles. Judging by the amount of steam coming out of this new waffle maker, my suspicion is that the Cucina Pro is not allowing enough moisture to escape, thus steaming the waffles rather than baking them.

Waffle Maker
This is the original style (versus Belgian) waffle maker I referenced in my review of Waffle House waffle mix. Everything about it is easy, including cleaning the non-stick plates. The design and size of this is just wonderful. As well as the cooking time, anywhere from 3-5 minutes depending on our darkening likes. So far it has shown to be a very high quality piece of kitchen equipment.

Makes standard waffles, not Belgian
This looks like about the only waffle iron that still makes regular waffles on Amazon. I don't like Belgian style, so I bought it. It works fine. We've used it 8 days now over 4 weekends. Here's what I do. I plug it in for about 10 minutes on "MAX" temperature. You have to use "MAX" because it is underpowered, in my opinion. Spray it with non-stick. Put put your ladle of mix on it. If you want your waffle thoroughly cooked and not doughy inside, ignore the lights. Let it cook until the steam stops coming out the sides, or almost stopped. It works just fine with no issues so far. I never dial it back from the "MAX" setting.

Makes Good Waffles
I love waffles and pancakes. When it comes to waffles I like the waffles to be of the type that have alot of the little squares on it much like they serve at Waffle House or most places that serve waffles on the menu. 7 - 10 inch waffles are what you normally find at these places and I didnt want to spend $200 on a waffle maker to get 10 inch waffle so I settle for this waffle iron. It works just as expected and it makes them in the size I like. I use cooking spray on each side or a bit of pump spray butter and they come out fine every time. Just be away that if you dont spread your batter out just a bit or you use to much it will over flow once you close the lid. There is also no lock on the iron so when you close it down it will rise some when it bakes the waffle batter. I either press down on it or Ill use something with some weight to weigh it down with

Functional but lacking.
No user manual is a serious flaw. While it does function and did cook waffles, the hinges feel insecure and flimsy and it takes a long time to heat up. There is a dial with red and green lights, but we don't know what they mean due to the lack of manual. Would not buy again.

Sup[er fast shipping and just what I ordered.
Really wanted the square shape 4 piece unit but could not locate one. These American this waffle irons are getting hard to find. Everything is the Belgian any more. I was raised with the this rectangular type waffles and won't convert to the thick chewy ones.

Hard pass
Why does this waffle maker even exist? Man I almost never leave reviews, but this was a disappointment all across the board. The heating element is terrible, and even on the max heat setting, it never got warm enough to make waffles. The light is supposed to turn off after 5-8 minutes to indicate it's hot enough to use. After almost 20 minutes it still wasn't hot enough. Just ended up cranking it to MAX heat setting to try to make a waffle, ended up with a soggy limp waffle, even after letting it cook for 10 minutes instead of the recommended 3 minutes. The reviews from years ago ago stated it beeped when the waffles were ready. That feature has been removed on the new model. No beep, lights don't work. You literally have to guess when your waffle is ready. But here's the thing.. it's never ready, because it doesn't get hot enough to cook batter. The light indicators don't work as described in the instructions. The lid is loose and wobbly. All recent reviews are the same. Don't waste your time on this product. Quality of materials and electric components have obviously been obliterated since 2017.
