What other saws should i buy for a started set in addition to this saw?

Honestly, this saw will do almost anything you need. If you’re just getting started, get this and use it until you find a need for something else. If you find yourself doing incredibly fine work, you might want to get a dozuki, but it’s really not necessary. If you find yourself working really large chunks of wood you might want a kataba.

Hope long do blades last?

Not sure but would depend on how much use the blade gets. Mine is still sharp after 6 months

Does it work with a miter box

It depends on the miter box. The metal that the saw is made of is thinner than usual, conventional western saws, so it might wobble in the miter box slots and not be as accurate as it could be. If you make your own miter box out of, say, wood, then you could make your own slots with the pull saw and the fit would be perfect as would be the results.

Does the blade come with a cover to protect the teeth when not using it?

Yes, it comes with a plastic cover for the blade.
