How do I get my umbrella to tilt, it stands up straight or lays straight but won't tilt.

I’ve never tried to “tilt” it. Since it is naturally tilted when assembled correctly, I haven’t used it another way.

Can I buy replacement stakes on Amazon that are exactly like the ones included?

I'm not sure. We purchased plastic stakes to replace the metal ones that came with the tent/umbrella. We use this a lot at the beach and found the metal ones didn't work very well in the sand.

Can you join two of these together adjacently to create a larger coverage area?

No unfortunately you cannot put two together
