Q: What chain size does it take?

This chain is a 56 Tooth Full House Chain 3/8” low profile pitch. Compatible chain models are 90F056 or SPT1500. Thank you for the inquiry!

Q: Could you do a rip cut with this unit?

Hi Leah! This carpentry saw is designed mainly for cross cutting. The saw can do some specialized cuts that require a short rip cut.

Q: If I want to gang cut rafters with it and the blade won’t reach can the metal at the end of the blade be removed?

It can be removed but there isn’t much to be gained by removing it - maybe 1/2”. The bar would become unstable if tip is removed and would want to move. It may hurt the accuracy of the cuts. Other than that it is great for TGI’s, beams, rafters and so on - we love it!
