Almost perfect!
I love it. I was hesitant since it's about twice as much as other paper towel holders, BUT the one-towel-at-a-time/no over-spin feature made me take the chance. How many times do you have only one hand free for grabbing a paper towel when you're working in the kitchen? And how many times do you make the attempt, and end up spinning out four feet of paper towels and STILL have to try to separate one from the pack? So, this seemed worth a shot. So glad I did it! This works like a charm! We've mounted it vertically, since between under-cabinet lights, and magnetic bars on the walls under the cabinets for knives and kitchen tools, we just don't have the under-counter space to spare. Instead, it's mounted vertically on the side of cabinet next to the sink. One towel at a time, no matter which hand you use! It is NOT difficult to pull out off one towel---there's not a lot of resistance, and so no tugging is required, which was another point of hesitation. One commenter made mention of the "clicking" sound as you unroll a paper towel, and yes, that's there but it's not an issue. A couple of clicks, and they aren't particularly loud, either. I'm not sure why it would bother anyone unless your job is to stand by the thing pulling off paper towels for 8 hours a day? I could see that getting tedious after a couple of hours of clicking. The ONLY drawback (and the reason hubby insisted that, despite him also loving it, I could only give it 4 stars instead of 5) is that it's black but it comes with silver screws. We wanted it dark because all our fixtures are antique bronze, but the silver screws really ruin that look. Fortunately, we've run across this before, so he had some black screws on hand, but he feels that it should automatically come with the black screws. He has a point, but I don't think that's worth a one-star demerit. Maybe 1/2 a star?Anyway, aside from that little cosmetic hiccup, this is perfect. Well worth paying the extra 9 or 10 bucks for that one-towel-at-a-time feature! If you're hesitating, don't. You won't regret buying this! [But go buy some black screws while you wait for UPS to deliver it. :-) ]

Works great, looks great, and no more pointy ends.
I originally got this style with a pointy end, for my kitchen. I liked it so much, I got another for my work room. This time, I got this one, with the blunt end, in black. These work great! They hold the roll firmly, and let you rip off a sheet, without a half mile of towels following, so you only get the sheet you want. (and NEVER AGAIN with the search for the second hole, installing the old kind. This just slips on from an open end, and is SOOOO much easier to change rolls. No hassle at all! Yay! : )I think this black one even looks great, & in my work room - I prefer the blunt end, so I don't get caught on it, as I walk by.Both versions are super easy to install. 2 Screws, and that's it. If you're going into cabinets, as I did, you may want to use your own short wood screws to secure it - without screw tips protruding into the bottom of your cupboards, but they do provide 2 screws and sheet rock anchors, if you prefer it to go into a wall.TIP: Make sure wherever you put it, you have room to swap out the paper towel roll. Some under cabinets are recessed pretty far, and if you're right up against that edge, it might be a tight squeeze to swap out the roll, if it's too far recessed. Hold it in place, then Test putting on a roll, before you start screwing.
