The best phone mount I've found... But it doesn't stick. (Solved with Mod, Now Perfect)
BTW to anyone who sees this, I first posted in October '17 and it's currently April '19. This mount hasn't moved a bit in the intervening period. It still works flawlessly. I am just now about to get a new phone and it should work with that one too. I love this mount soooo freaking much. It works beautifully and to anyone who can spare the 10 minutes to Mod it as described here you should absolutely buy this. It's the best. Pre-edit review below the line.--------------------------------------------------------------------------UPDATE: I fixed my problem of adhesion by removing the adhesive gel that was a part of the product and instead used some 3M velcro squares to adhere it to my dash. With that one modification, this has become the best mount I have seen. It works beautifully and consistently. It stays folded down when not in use and you can still mount a phone in its maw easily with one hand where it will remain secure until you remove it. I love this thing. Still, I did have to modify it the extra so if 10 mins of hassle are excruciatingly valuable to you and you want a perfect product from the very start you should count this as 4 stars. With modifications though, it's the best. My original review is below if you want to see what I thought before fixing my problem.I am sorry to post a negative review... The clip itself is fantastic, however, I messed around for quite some time and cannot get it to stick to my dash reliably. It stuck for 15 min or so after several attempts but ultimately it does not adhere well enough and will come unstuck and stick less with each subsequent attempt. I did clean the dash thoroughly beforehand. It's pretty disappointing as the rest of it is probably the most sturdy and no-nonsense design I've seen for a phone mount. If I do not get a reply here I may see what 3rd party adhesives I can safely use on my dash to attach it. Anyway, lot's of people love it so give it a shot.

I liked this more than I thought I would.
I used to use suction cup phone holders and I really liked them, but lately you are hard-pressed to find them without the goo on the suction cup. This for me is a HUGE deal because I live in the Seattle area and drive a small car with a sloped windshield and you wouldn't think with our weather that I'd have an issue with the goo... however, I've had multiple suction cup holders start to have goo dripping down from the suction cup. Goo is gross and oddly difficult to remove fully from the windshield. After 2 goo suction cup mishaps, I decided to look for another type of phone holder for my iphone se. I picked this one, mainly because I don't like having stuff blocking my air vents and with my car, there isn't much else that works. This holder was easy to install on the dash and hasn't failed me yet. It's very easy to get my phone in/out of the holder and I haven't had any issues with the phone coming out when I didn't want it to. It's true that not all apps seem to go sideways on a cell phone, but I haven't had any issue with the maps... which is the only reason I view my phone while i'm driving. If you feel that you need to be able to read texts on your phone while driving, this isn't the phone holder for you unless your messenger will go landscape. Since I don't care about anything but maps, this phone holder works for me. I haven't taken the holder off my dash, so I'm not sure how easy/messy that is yet.Oh and if it matters, my phone is an iphone se in a spigen tough armour case... the fact that both are spigen products is incidental because only now that I am writing some reviews for items I bough months ago did I realize that they are both put out by the same manufacturer. I just happened to like the style of both.

The Crocodile Mouth design is great!!!
This is a very useful product. I have tried multiple smartphone holders and finally settled for this after a few years of trying products in the market.Problems with smartphone holders:1. Most smartphone holders obstruct vision when not in use (unless you unmount them - I am lazy to do so). - Spigen Stealth solves this.It stays there on the dashboard but is invisible to my eyes when I don't need it. i.e. the top half folds down if there is nothing in between the Jaws.Even when there is a smartphone in between the Jaws, stealth is the least obstructive among all smartphone holders out there.2. If you get one of those small smartphone holders that fit into your ac vent so that they do not obstruct vision,a. The phone gets heated up if you have your heater on.b. You cannot fit in huge phones (like my 6s PLUS).The spigen stealth can fit both my 6s Plus and my wife's 6S with no issues.3. If you get one of those CD mount Smartphone holders, they obstruct everything like audio controls, vents etc... (at least in my car).4. Finally, Super easy to set up, put int he smart phone and take it out.Trust me I was designing something similar with Sugru and was testing it out on my car , but have to hand it to spigen to have brought this to market sooner. If you faced all of the problems above and are still in the market for a smartphone car mount - just get this.Spigen promises that it is easy to remove the mount and stick it back. I have not tried it (nor intend to in the near future) - so cannot speak for this.
