Stetson Bozeman Men's Outdoor Hat

Always wanted a good cowboy hat. This is super nice. Fit and finish are top quality. Warm and stylish, great for cooler weather and out and about . I have gotten several compliments. Love the gray color and fit is spot on.

Hate came well packed with a cardboard shell around it with good protection and shipping was very fast. It does run true to size or just a tiny bit snug (for me) but has some give with the material. It also has a softer feel with the wool with nice spring back if rolled. It wears a bit warm which is nice for cold fall and winter days but might be a bit much for warmer regions. The water resistance works good and should hold up through the wet season. I wasn’t sure if I would like the color in person but ended up being very pleased. I chose this hat because I didn’t want a full fledged cowboy hat and something more versatile for outdoor work and general activity. There are lots of options in an outdoor style hat but if this is a style you decide on you won’t be disappointed - very comfortable, versatility, and the quality is great! I also get a lot of compliments which is always nice.

I saw many good reviews and some unhappy reviews so I was a bit nervous to shell out $120 for a hat as I’ve never purchased a quality felt hat before.The reasons why I’m thrilled with this hat are:1. The seller packed the hat upside-down in their own box. The inside had a cutout for the crown to poke through the support layer. This was then padded with foam to prevent creases or markings. (Some people said the hat arrived in a bag??)2. The felt didn’t have any defects as one person described: “pimples” and no moth damage as another had described.3. The hat fits me like it was made for me!! I’ve tried mediums in other brands but this is the only one that fits true to the size chart. My head measures about 22.25” or so just above the ears. In baseball caps I wear size 7 1/8 I believe.4. The felt is heavy (weight wise) and feels very premium and high quality.5. The sweat band is this soft, vented athletic fabric and I like that it helps hold the hat in place.6. The style is slightly western and slightly classic and I think it is absolutely flattering for all occasions.I will see how it holds up in the weather, but all of the reviews that mentioned that were satisfied with it’s performance.Also felt loves to pick up lint and pet hair, so keep that in mind, especially if you purchase it in black or another dark color.

Seems a bit small for a medium. I’ve ordered the large to see which I prefer.Other than the size, I’m very pleased.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:It is a Stetson, and large enough to not wear in a high wind. Fits loosely on my really big head. Color is wonderful.

Nice looking, soft and comfortable. My head is exactly 22” around - usually Size 7 - which for Stetson sizing is right in b/w upper end of Small and lower end of Medium. I chose this Bozeman in a Small b/c I wanted a snug fit so it doesn’t blow away on a windy day. Being a ‘crushable’ hat, this is made of soft felt that stretches a bit, so while it was a bit tight initially, it quickly stretched just enough for a perfect custom fit. If you want a looser fit, then go for a Medium. (I have another Stetson that is not a crushable, and I got that in a Medium and it fits nicely w/ just a slight bit of wiggle room all around.)This Bozeman arrived w/o much of a defined shape to it - the crown was a puffy looking and not much of a visible pinch on the front; I wanted a more sculpted look so I reshaped it to my liking using steam from a kettle, which is quite easy to do. You can also soak it and shape it.

If this hat is any indication, Stetson's quality had really gone down over the years. I have a 20ish year old crushable wool Stetson that is too small for me now and is stiffer and holds its shape much better than this new one. This new hat is made of thinner, floppier material and the pinch front dents easily take on a different shape when you pr it on, making the hat look kind of lopsided. This should be a $40 hat. The only reason I'm keeping it is because despite these flaws, I'm kind of liking the old battered and mishapen look right out of the box.
