Shattered Sea Series 3 Books Collection Set by Joe Abercrombie (Half a King, Half the World, Half a War)

Books are not the edition advertised in the picture, which is the whole reason I bought from this seller. False advertising and also did not come in good condition.

It's Joe Abercrombie...It's going to be good. I must admit it is a departure from the First Law Trilogy, which I absolutely loved, as well as the three stand-alone novels. It's still a gritty and engaging series just as all of his works have proven to be for me. I found Half The World to easily be my favorite in this series and I truly enjoyed the characters much more in it than the other two novels. I won't give away the twist but to be perfectly honest I feel the novels could have done without it. It took this series in an unexpected but not entirely welcome direction for me. Still, like I said, it's Joe Abercrombie. He is still on my very short list of favorite authors. I truly appreciate how he has taken the concept of high fantasy and made it so much more real. To me, there are no real heroes in any of his stories as they are all very broken people and as apt to endanger themselves with their own weaponry and their own poor decisions as they are anyone else. I also appreciate that, while gritty, there are plenty of laugh out loud moments and quotes that still stick with me. After all, you have to be realistic (thanks Bloody Nine). Feel free to check out this series but be sure to read his other works as well. Get your Abercrombie fix but start elsewhere and finish with this series.

Almost finished with the Lies of Locke Lamora and have enjoyed it. Not sure yet how it is part of the series.

So far these are great books. But the images of the covers were different than what I received. But I am happy as the cover art is better than displayed and seems to be the British versions.

Love, love, love everything this man has written. I've read everything this man has written. His male characters are real, lowdown and dirty, his women characters strong, intelligent and not afraid to play the game. Realistic to the nth degree.

All three books literally fell to pieces as I read them. They were not the editions shown in the photographs which is fraudulent. A complete waste of money.
