Always a good bet to go OEM on fluids that run this ...
Always a good bet to go OEM on fluids that run this long between changes. Not the place to cut corners on cost if you don't have to. That being said, I've never had a problem in the past going generic. In this case, since was doing the transmission as well and it specifies Nissan Matic-D or you void your warranty....

2005 Nissan Frontier
Just what I needed for a 2005 Nissan Frontier. Ordered 5 quarts. Replaced just over 4 quarts.

oem is usually best
Repeat, oem product that is priced high and is still available so far. matic- s is supposed to have taken its place but at 150,000+ why change with not a minute of transmission problems what so ever.

Came in a Nissan bottle -- with a broken seal! A refill maybe? Refilled with what?
Suppose you got a bottle of beer but the seal was broken. And the bottle is full of yellow liquid. Heck yeah, must be the beer that is says on the label. Go ahead and drink it! I _NEVER_ expected to get a product with a broken seal. It sure was red all right but I don't trust it to be what the bottle says. I used it anyway as it looked and smelled like trans fluid and I was pretty committed to swapping the transfer case oil before I noticed the problem. I'm replacing it that stuff weekend. So sorry.
