Motorola Moto Z3 / Z3 Play Protective Flexible Bumper Case Cover/Compatible with Moto Mods - All Matte Black

I love it!I had the first generation of this and was involved in a wreck that totaled my truck, the case got a small crack and lasted for another 4 months without any issues. Finally needed to replace it, and got the 2nd gen of the same one.Awesome.There was a little card that came in the packaging explaining shipment may cause the case to be slightly loose and if so to allow 48 hours of use to fix that. So, mine was slightly loose at the fingerprint scanner area and within 15 hours it had tightened up to the phone.The power button is just a bit harder to depress, but after a few days of use, either it got easier or I got used to it. :)I use only the battery mod, and this bumper is perfect.

I just got a MOTO Z3 and had a barry mod from my previous MOTO phone. Cases that allow mods to be attached are very hard to come by. I found this one that goes around the edges of the phone. The case pops right on a bit loose but not too much, it grips it very well. It doesn't add much to the sides either, so it still feels slim. The placement for the buttons are perfect and won't have to apply much pressure to push them. I actually turn the screen off by mistake because my finger slides across the button to do it. The only negative is fingerprint sensor opening, its HUGE. But I get it, everyone has difference sized hands and they want to ensure everyone can use it. I consider it the ugly spot but still very functional. As advertised, the MOTO battery mod fits without any issue with the case on them.I see the case lasting the lifetime of the phone. The case has grips bumps all along the side edges. I got the clear version. This helps highlight the buttons on the phone so they are easier to view. The corners are slightly larger bumps to help if dropped. It also has a slip lip so the phone screen doesn't touch any surface.UPDATE: Had to order a replacement as the original snapped into two pieces. I will admit I dropped my phone and it took the brunt of the fall, doing it's job well. My phone didn't get damaged. The weak points are the thin plastic bridges that go around the finger print sensor and the USB-C port. So I had to knock this down to 4 stars but there aren't a lot of options like this. The new one fit much tighter around the phone than the first time. I'm sure this will last much longer than the old one. I still consider this a strong product to buy for those who use MODs on their phones.

I wanted this case because I was tired of having to strip my entire case off of the phone to use my Moto mods. I had purchased a different bumper case before this one and it was of poor design and craftsmanship. This case is great. It fits well, all of the cutouts and buttons are in the proper places and are formed well.I was also able to use the original Moto backplate that came with my phone to protect the contacts that the Mods use to interface with the phone. No other case that I have purchased has allowed me to keep that in place, most just have an open hole that leave the contacts exposed but you are not able to use mods without taking them completely off the phone.All of my mods fit perfectly with the case in place with no issues that hinder their functionality (no case in the way of buttons/air vents). There is a small notch formed into the case to help with removing the mods and it works well, even for people with large hands.The case does a good job of protecting the phone. The edges are raised slightly above screen level and the sides around the phone are thick enough for protection without making the phone unwieldy in the hand or overly pokey in the pocket. The sides do have slight ridges to help with gripping the phone but that is not a protection against children, lol. My phone has been dropped about 4 times from a distance of approximately 4 to 5 feet onto concrete without any signs of damage to the phone or the case. I do have a glass screen protector which we all know does a fair job of protecting the screen but gets sacrificed in the process. My screen protector is still in perfect condition after the drops. I am not advocating dropping your phone but if, like me you tend to do so your phone's chances of survival are pretty good.This case is great and the price makes it even better. The fit, function and asthetic are all as they should be, shipping was quick. All in all I believe that this is a solid value.

The power button design in the case is TERRIBLE. It requires a measure 10 pounds of force to activate the devices power button....just unacceptable.The CAMERA IS NOT PROTECTED. the specifications are FALSE, as they state that the corner bumpers are taller than the camera (without a moto mod). THE BUMPERS ARE 1MM SHORTER THAN THE CAMERA, meaning if you do not use a moto mod, your camera is in danger.I use a battery mod, which does fit well with this bumper, but it is disappointing that Casewe makes FALSE CLAIMS.The case DOES NOT WORK with most screen protectors. Forget about using a tempered glass protector, as the bumper itself protrudes onto the screen for ~2-3mm from the phone's edge. Use ONLY plastic screen protectors and prepare for random trimming of that protector along the edges and especially the corners.The fingerprint reader section is EXTREMELY FLIMSY and I predict will not withstand very much use. You MUST protect the fingerprint reader part of the case if you want it to last....and you should NEVER expect it to sit securely on the phone, as it is essentially two very thin strands of rubber that connect the case to itself above and below the fingerprint reader. There is a significant (>1mm) gap that catches on anything and everything.It does make the phone easier to hold.So, it does a job, and I will keep it. Were it advertised honestly, I would give it 3 or 4 stars, due to the limited options for a Moto with moto mods. BUT DISHONESTY IN ADVERTISING IS A PLAGUE ON AMAZON AND MUST CONTINUOUSLY BE ADRESSED.
