Update: this thing has been fully modded underneath. All the metal you can get your hands on. It now crawls. It's now a true 1/16 scale crawler. It's been hurdle after hurdle and I've had to fabricate a bunch of things myself, but it's been worth every step getting it to this point. Get one if you're at all curious. I have watched plenty of reviews on the RTR models so I knew exactly what I was getting myself in to. I was pleasantly surprised to see mine came with proportional steering, has screws in the drive shafts connecting them to the differentials, and the tires are plenty soft enough. A not on the tires. Apparently, there is a big difference in the rubber compound being used in the RTR models. I don't have a kit version so I can not confirm. What I can confirm is that the RTR tires ARE stiff right out of the box, but if you take them off the rims and turn them inside out once or twice, and twist them around a little to break the material in, you end with a very nice supple tire that runs way better than stock and not having done this. I also recommend, first and foremost, find the right size Phillips screwdriver and go through the entire truck and tighten the screws up. When I say tighten, I don't mean strip them. You get one chance to strip it and the holes are done. I went through the whole thing and tightened numerous screws, especially on the frame links. Just doing that seemed to really tighten up the truck's overall feel. Another suggestion? Find a piece of soft foam to fold around the battery before placing it in the compartment. It helps keep the battery from rolling around in the compartment and it helps damped overall sound of the truck and quiets it down a little, I think. All in all, I love the thing. I have 2 Redcat 1/10 scale crawlers and this little 1/16 just might have become my favorite of them all. I already ordered the axle upgrade kit, new metal frame links and shocks and a new set of wheels and tires. I can't wait to mod this up and run it! These little rigs are so fun. I know will be getting another one for the collection very soon.

WPL is my favorite brand crawler. It is a great beginner crawler because of the low price and availability of upgrade parts. WPL builds their RC cars with the buyer in mind and does not force you to sell your organs or take a second mortgage out on your house to buy their stuff. You can upgrade their products like any other brand from wheels, tracks, gearbox, motor, axles and anything you can think of. Out of all my crawlers and drift cars I find myself using WPL the most while the rest collect dust now. If you have a 3d printer you can make just about anything you want for it. It comes with a metal frame but the rest of it is plastic for the most part. Adding 4 wheel steering and a 2 speed gearbox makes this thing a beast. It comes stock with a singlet gearbox And Plastic axles which can be gutted and replaced with metal parts. You can buy a 3 channel remote and new esc that comes with a speaker to add engine noise and the third channel to control a winch. Overall I think it is worth every penny it cost.

I bought this to get back into the RC world but on a budget. I used to play with them as a kid and it's been just as much fun (or more) playing with them as an adult. This model has progressive steering and throttle so it does crawl pretty damn good for what it is. This truck will not do everything the larger models will do but it will do just about anything you throw at it that is within scale of the car. It's big enough to have fun out in the woods, backyard, walking trails, etc. but not too small where it gets hung up on small pebbles like the 1/24th scale cars. As is, out of the box, it is plenty fun. Just like any other vehicles I've bought, I can't leave anything alone so I have upgraded the steering, axles, links and put in a bigger battery. With the bigger battery I easily get over 1 hour of play time per charge which is PLENTY. The last picture is a friends 1/12th rig to show size difference. I'd buy this again in a heartbeat.

These cars are fun as heck! The accessories like mirrors, windshield wipers, snorkel etc. will fall off if you do a lot of rock crawling/rolling over and the suspension is bouncy and the tires are a little stiff to get great traction but for half the price of the name brand ones they are a ton of fun. If you are a purest scale crawler type should probably move along. If you want to have fun off roading these cars are great. I have the red truck with the cage bed and two of the blue trucks with white camper and they are holding up to quite the beating. Batteries last long enough to get bored and quit before it goes dead most times...at least half an hour.

Classic rc die .... Soon was super excited to get it out and started but it couldn't actually handle the outdoors the way videos show. Lasted a little over a day before the motor burned out

Great, out of the box crawler that can be modified like crazy for short money. Company that makes these, WPL, has fantastic customer support. Slap a set of different tires on it and go.

Lower suspension mount snapped (pictured) any replacement parts? Decent truck for the price but the tires are way to hard, not much for upgrade options unless you can fabricate, the suspension is ridged and the axel rods are a 5.5mm hex with a screw which most 1/16 and 1/24 wheels are a 7mm with threaded ends so you can just buy any wheel setup you want.

Great little truck. It’s the first crawler rc I’ve owned and it’s more capable than I expected. Proportional steering and throttle, metal diff gears and the battery seems to last a long time when just crawling. Tires could be softer for more grip, and turning circle could be tighter, but I can’t complain for the price. Overall I’ve had no issues with it and it’s proving to be a tough little truck. I actually bought another one for my son since we enjoyed it so much. With a little searching on the Internet, I found heaps of upgrade parts for it too. Definitely recommended as an entry level crawler.

Looks great tried it worked great. Had to tighten screws it is not 4 channel it’s 4 function. Charged battery drove it few minutes and it stopped working. Still great little beginner trail/crawler.

This is a good RC Crawler to pick up to help gauge interest in the hobby before going in on a more higher end hobby grade crawler. It was easy and fun to put together. The headlights are cool and decently bright. Some stickers were left over as theres no instructions for where any go but they dont seem to make sense or fit anywhere. Will update if it dies within a few months of use.

YouTube WPL C24. I bought it with attention to make it FPV. Too slow for that. For price great product. But plastic eventually breaks and power /weight comes from metal. Upgrading to full metal will need u to buy 70$ differential gears links etc kit+ 20$ shockers + 30$ new motor with dual gears servo tires and what not. Overall once u start making it metal I.e once it breaks u will end up spending anywhere from min 100$ to 250$ and what’s left will be remote control of 20$ and body shell. Rest 90% will go garbage. Upgrading it will cost itself 75$ +150= 250$ approx. now I ask myself question is it worth going through all trouble as it still will be called wplc24 . For 250 i could have bought prebuilt wpl metal chassis or buy some good brand hobby grade in first place. Think u want to spend 75 now upgrade 250 OR Buy something for 300 that u can sell after some time and buy another. It has no resale value even after upgrades. Make wise choice

Purchased this little unit as I read many reviews and overall sounded like a good entry RC for husband/daughter. After waiting for the charge to be completed, the anticipation was crazy and there was nothing. The motor was continuously running but no movement from the truck. Sounded like something was stripped and causing the drive train to not work at all. And there is no contact to the seller. Currently trying to return it as we didn’t get to play with it at all but it’s been a headache. I do not recommend.
