It is, what it claims to be~
So far this pole is about what I'd expected, after reading the reviews and researching similar products. Fully extended, the pole looked too tall towering above my ranch home, so I just kept the second section recessed into the bottom one, leaving the pole at a perfect 20 foot height. The gauge of the aluminum stock is quite thin, so I am going to collapse it down in high wind situations (over 35 mph) whenever possible, and this is easy enough to do, ... The included US flag was very thin and "chinsey", so much so, that it actually sticks to the pole when wet. So I just ordered a nice sewn & embroidered replacement flag from "Annin" here on Amazon. Lastly, contrary to a couple of the reviews I've read on here prior to my purchase, the popular solar pole light does fit beneath the ball finial without a problem!

great
I had this 25' flag pole before. It lasted 6 years, I live on top of a hill and have excess winds of 60 mph often. Any other pole I had never lasted past a week. It finally snapped, so I ordered another. It is a great product. The reason I give a 4 is I wish the flag swivels were metal vs plastic. Though mine did last several years, when they did snap, I had a difficult time find some thing to replace them.

What Should Expect Review
This is the second flagpole I have purchased from this company. I have two flags flying from it as well. My expectations have been that this should last 3-5 years as it is a lighter gauge style. Although I have purchased two of these since 2011, I realize that when I made this purchase. It isn't that I have a throw away expectation, it is a cost relationship attitude. A good solid aluminum flagpole, that is made from the perfect material cost considerably more. I lost the first one just a few weeks ago during a high wind storm, gust that reached 40 mph.I think if you make this purchase, consider all the applications that you might put it through and be reasonable. It isn't a piece of junk, by no means, but it isn't a top dollar purchase either. I gave this a 5 star review because it has performed as expected.I will disclose that I am a very honest and unbiased reviewer. I got it down probably 5' and it looks just as nice, appears to be more sturdy at this level ...
I'm a believer in 'preventive' and noticed the first day that this 25' pole was NOT going to last long at 25'! So, this morning when I got up Iwent out and tried to lower it on the first rung but discovered it would not budge. Well, I got my rubber gloves, and voila'! So, I got itdown probably 5' and it looks just as nice, appears to be more sturdy at this level and I'm believing I have PREVENTED A BREAKAGEthat I did NOT want! This is a beautiful pole and we did put the light on top but had to 'improvise' to get it on since it needed an 'adapter', but, since we havefor many years in Oklahoma and Arkansas had to 'improvise' that was easy! It now has the solar lite on and the first night it wasabsolutely beautiful.Where there is some 'brains' 'all things are possible'!Although I love the 'looks', the durability could use some improvement. Who wants the American flag on the ground? NOT ME! SoI would have to rate this a three.

On a cliff, over a river and it is still there as of Feb 2014, June 2016, .
We have used several poles in the past. Primarily fiberglass. The winds here can be horrific. The winds have bent and broke other flag poles, including the fiberglass in two. So far the American Aluminum has passed the test and withstood some 40 and 50 mph wind gusts. One flag was shredded in the wind but the pole is still there.UPDATE: One year and still up. I just wanted to say that after a year of strong winds, major storms, and one huricane the pole remains. It has not weathered at all. The only minor downside has been the "golden" plastic ball at the top was shattered by what we don't know. It is gone. But the flag still flys.UPDATE June 2016: I just ordered a new flag pole. Same make and model. Our old one, verified by security cameras, was stolen this past week when we were away.UPDATE #2: It has been two years now, two years of strong storms, winds, freezing rain, snow and heat and the pole still stands. The flags, including the so called "weather resistant" ones, have come and shredded but the pole remains. Great product

Proud to display my flags
It works great at first. Then after leaving it up for a time I can't get the lowest level to release and lower the pole and flags. It took some doing to get the hole dug correctly and get three 60 lb bags of ready mix in the ground around the PVC tube. Also you NEED an assistant to hold the tube in place while you shovel in the concrete. The ball at the top has a stud that is too small to go thru and hold the add on light that I got for flag flying at night. Had to order a new ball from another online site to get the stud length needed. Otherwise it works well.Update: This pole had to be replaced after I had to use pipe wrenches to try to loosen the locked up sections to lower the flags. The wrenches tore up the pole so I had to buy a new one. The new one lasted about a year then when we had a rather higher than normal wind blow in the middle of the night I went out to find my pole and flags laying on the ground. The pole had snapped almost clear through right above the ground sleeve. Now I have to buy a third pole and since I can't re-locate the ground sleeve (it's in 180 lbs of concrete) I have to get yet another 16 gauge pole with the lousy twist locks rather than getting a thicker gauge pole with pin locks. In retrospect, knowing what I do now I would buy a more expensive better pole which I will have spent the money on getting 3 bad poles. An this company never offered to replace or repair these poles either.
