Viking Blood [DVD]

This is a much better film that the ratings suggest. Some of the low reviews seemed to be for different films so I don't know how accurate the average rating is. The acting here was solid throughout the cast, they respected the characters they were playing and put everything into it. The directing could have been tightened up and the plot was paper thin but overall it was pretty realistic for a low budget affair. I would give a 4 star for the acting but 3 for everything else. Don't expect anything like the Viking Series (also on Amazon I think) but even so it is worth a look.

In the style of many heroic Sagas, centered around exploits of a single person who makes a change without a globe spanning epic story full of explosions and fire arrows.Costume/prop design was pretty spot on, without a doubt the most period accurate representation of any film about "Vikings" that I have seen to date. Good story about an interesting topic that would have been a core issue amongst the people of the time. Dialogue and delivery without over the top cliches and tropes.Very pleasently suprised by this film I had no idea existed.

This film may not have a Hollywood budget, and perhaps not a 5 star blockbuster film, but it is original in its thinking compared to other Viking films currently. Worth a watch.

Poor narrative, not very interesting, very poor acting.

Great costumes but some very wooden acting. The story is that of Yojimbo or last man standing. Absolutely no plot twist and very low budget.Only good if you are interested in the reenactment stuff...otherwise spend your time watching paint dry....

It had its moments- and at times threatened to entertain!

Just watch "A fist full of dollars" its a way better film.
