Solid well manufactured light mallet
Nice mallet at a good price. Seems sturdy enough to last a good while, and bonus, it's the only Narex item I received in the shipment that wasn't poorly packaged. There's not much you can do to a wooden mallet, unlike the Richter chisels and marking knife that I received, which were laughably poorly packed from the factory..

Perfect.
I often use this working veneer, and to make adjustments vacuum pressing. It works. It’s light enough controlled pressure is possible.

Wood Mallet 11oz (300 gram) for carving
I don't do allot of carving with chisels but have mini rabbit job for a battery holders. I didn't want to use a metal hammer on new chisels. This hammer is made of oak and is heavy enough for light chiseling. Ergonomic enough for small jobs that it wont annoy you for small work.

It thwacks.
I find 300g perfect for my woodworking chisel use. I would want something heavier for 1.5-2" chisels, but this is great for 1/4"-1". I was relieved to find that the wood grain in the handle runs the proper direction for strength. So many lesser manufacturer's just cut and attach their handles any which way (making an in-person shopping experience important to find one with wood grain running in-line with the hammer blows.)

best mallet for flattening cutlets
I know it's a wood carving mallet for striking chisels, but this isthe best mallet I've found for kitchen work flattening pork and chicken cutlets, and really does the job an a beef flank steak or London broil.Perfectly balanced and handle fits my hand. Daily use no problem, just clean well andrub with mineral oil. Amazing price for such a well made and designed mallet.
