This is AWESOME-SAUCE!Very lovely addition to your hand percussive arsenal!2 things to be aware of:1. it doesn't come with enough filling to really rock! LOL, it's plenty loud...I was having problems playing 16th/32nd eighth-note triplets.I've had to adapt vintage bb's (for a gun) since I've had a bit of trouble locating the official filling. BB's are ok, bigger than the metal beads that come pre-packaged.I'm expecting some other beads (smaller than bb's, I'm hoping), I'm still trying to find the perfect sound suited for me.2. it's too black! I was left wondering if the gold finish would have been a better bet? I've since continued personalizing it...adding a few stickers to make it more pleasing to my eyes. I like black, it seemed rather dull. Had to add my own style to bring it to life!Make sure the lids (yes both!) are solidly closed. Maybe add a small piece of masking tape to the inside? You'll see. B-)All-in-all, great purchase!Search, "metal beads" if you also have problems finding the official filling. There's different prices/sizes available. It sounds great for a medium to higher rate shaker. It definitely stands out but not overpowering

Shaker sounds good. It was a little bigger than I thought but I like it.

High quality

I use the Shaker in my percussion section with the church music group. It works well: loud enough, just right. The size is nicer than the shaker eggs. The sound can be picked up by my microphone. The Rock Shaker gets an a-plus rating. Also adds to sounds can create by hitting with a drum stick.

Great for live settings, you can go soft like brushes or hard for that intense pulse. Bought it used, beautiful.
