I've only had the bag for a few weeks but overall I like this bag. Sturdy and well made. I expect it to last a long time which I suppose makes up for the high retail cost. I own different kinds of reusable bags made of an assortment of materials and sizes, including other ones that look similar in design, but this may end up being my most frequently used. I like the understated look of a brown paper bag and am happy to find a bag that replicates the look while being made of strong material and is reusable. I've received compliments and at the very least an approving nod from the cashier every time I've used these bags.Sometimes I shop more with my eyes and overestimate how much I end up buying at the store. While I don't recommend overpacking, the nice things about these bags is since they're made with stiff duck canvas, when opened, they sit upright without the use of the removable annoying plastic insert that comes with some bags, and they can hold much more than your typical bag in weight unlike a traditional paper bags that can rip if filled to the brim. I do hope the stitching will hold up over time.Because of the weight of the bag (16 oz) they are considerably heavier than your typical reusable bag made of polypropylene, nylon and other fabrics so if you intend going on a major shopping run using multiple bags, they are a little heavy to carry.I'm divided on the "wrinkled with use" look of the bags. I can't tell if it looks like that due to the crease of the canvas or if it's dyed that way.And finally, the reason I didn't give this product 5 stars is because while cleaning directions recommend wiping clean with a damp cloth and allowing to air dry, after taking the bag out one day, it ended up with rain spots. I attempted to clean it off with a barely damp cloth, with cool/tepid water which resulted in discoloration in the areas I wiped down. I thought it would maybe dry down to its original color but it has since stayed that way which is disappointing. Perhaps it adds character to the bag but I'm personally not satisfied with how the bag looks if you have to clean it especially considering the price.

Love this bag, but should for the price. The only downside is that owners are warned not to throw it into the washer and dryer. It's recommended that you just clean it off with a damp cloth. I hope this does keep it clean in the long run.UPDATE: Still love this bag. Cleaning hasn't been a problem. It's great looking, very sturdy and holds a small grocery cart full of merchandise. I've received so many compliments on its looks and quality that I've bought several more as gifts for family and friends.

This was a nice and roomy bag (a lot more bigger than what I wanted), however I haven't had this bag for even a month and one of the shoulder strap handles is torn :((Keep in my mind no groceries were ever put in this bag!) Bag was just used to carry small and light items. Not as sturdy and high quality as it claims to be.

This is certainly one tough tote. Canvass is really stiff which has both benefits and draw backs: can stand up by itself but if it gets crushed is kinda difficult to straighten out to load. Like that it has both regular carrying handles and a shoulder strap but unfortunately the manufacturer missed the mark on the latter, because while generously long they are pretty narrow gauge. Still perfectly strong, just not very comfortable for toting around especially considering how heavy this enormous bag can get when filled. Not a deal breaker for me because I purchased exclusively for use with my cargo bike so only need to carry it the short distance from the front of my house up one flight of stairs to the kitchen entrance. But for those who intend to go marketing with it and schlep purchases around with them for any length of time, some sort of add-on shoulder pad would certainly be in order.

I was hesitant to spend this much money on a bag for groceries, having tried and failed many a times to settle on the right reusable bags for my shopping- most being too small or not strong enough. I am glad I bought this bag because it really fits my needs. It is the same size as a standard large paper grocery bag, and as a result holds the same amount of stuff. The fabric is sturdy, wax coated, and stands up on its own while loading up. The handles and the bag are sturdy enough to carry heavy cans and also protect softer items (bread, fruit). The bag also folds nice and flat to put back in the car or in my bike basket for the next trip. I wanted to sew on patches to personalize the bag, but I am having second thougts because the fabric is so strong and thick it would be work to sew. Ha! The brown color is nice, it would be useful to have more color choices to designate some bags for use with different items. The packaging was lovely, it really presents nice and could be a very nice gift.

Love this bag. Durable. Stylish. No plastic. It's worth the money. I'm buying more to use as gift bags. People can use them for years as shopping bags. Only suggestion to the maker---I would like them about 4 inches longer to hold more groceries. Love em. And they were delivered in a flash. Great product. Great service.

I bought one bag about a month ago and liked it so much I ordered a second. It's about the same size as a regular old-fashioned grocery bag, but is thick, higher quality material. The stitching seems to be heavy-duty, and the bag is well made. It handles a lot with ease, and is easy to load into the car and carry in. For example, this week I bought a bottle of laundry detergent and it got packed into the bag with several other items. No problems carrying the bag in at all. The other bag held 1/2 gallon of milk and 3 quarts of half and half, along with 3-4 lighter items. I was pleasantly surprised. It also folds up nicely. The only thing I wish is that the handles were a couple of inches longer. Even as they are, it's a good purchase. I'll buy another bag from this company as I replace my older, well-used grocery bags.

This is totally unlike any "ordinary" grocery bag, even a robust and well-made "reusable" variety. The Colony Co. Grocery back is made from thick, tough and durable waxed canvas and it oozes quality (which, OK, for the price it should). Here are a few quick observations from initial use:-Positives:-1. Incredibly well made. Very sturdy in terms of both materials and assembly.2. The heavy waxing means that the bag will be waterproof.3. This is definitely going to last a long time...4. The combination of the dimensions of the bag and the toughness of the material means that they will stand up by themselves without collapsing.Negatives:-1. The handles are a bit thin... Compared with my old [and fraying] hemp-based re-usable bags [which 4 of these Colony Co. alternatives replaced] they are thin enough for you to feel the handle in the palms of your hands as they weight up. It would have been nice if they had found a way to pad them out a bit.2. Although it's too soon to say, I have a concern that the canvas may fray at the obvious "fold points" (each bag comes folded flat in a dedicated cardboard delivery box). Having bought a set of 4 of these, it is handy to be able to fold 3 of them flat and store them in the 4th. I'm just a little concerned that the folding may shorten their life a little.Overall, very happy with the purchase.

Genau das was ich gesucht habe. Das Material ist so steif, das sie selbst im leeren Zustand nicht zusammen fällt. Durch die gwachste Qualität ergibt sich ein sehr schöne unregelmäßige Farbe. Die Tasche würde ich jederzeit wieder kaufen.Nachtrag:Habe noch einmal eine für mich gekauft. Die gleiche Farbe war nicht mehr verfügbar. Das ist aber ok.Einfach top Qualität!

So muß eine Einkaufstasche sein: Robust und langlebig, geräumig und gut tragbar. Besser als jeder Papier- oder Plastikbeutel. Und ohne Werbung.

Sehr tolle Einkaufstasche. Das Material ist schön fest. Ich verwende sie nicht nur noch als Einkaufstasche, sondern auch als meine normal Tasche.

Tasche ist sehr groß, man kann alles Mögliche prima tragen, Aktenordner, Gemüse, Obst usw.; unempfindlich; wird lange halten. Sieht gut aus.
