So many of the reviews are negative because this product is not dishwasher safe. It is aluminum. Apparently everyone did not get the memo: Since the invention of dishwashers, aluminum was never safe to clean in them. Dishwasher detergent is caustic. Always has been. Aluminum corrodes in caustic environments. Always has. Do not blame this appliance.For the price, similar to plastic ones, this is a very sturdy egg slicer. Don't know that I would use it to slice anything else since the packaging does not recommend slicing anything else. I recommend this egg slicer for use in slicing eggs. Hand wash only.

This product finally did slice mushrooms unlike others! However, larger mushrooms need to be cut in half in order to fit. I had several slicers that "said" they did mushrooms, but this was the only one that really worked.

I adore it - use it every morning. Like the way it looks and works - only chg I would make would be having the slices a bit thicker . Really happy w it though!

After the first time it's used and washed Black gets all over your hands and the eggs And it becomes a piece of junk that you can no longer use waste of money.

The first one broke within 2 weeks. The wires piped out.

First - DO NOT put this in a dishwasher. OK? If you do, the finish oxidizes and you'll be unhappy (the haters don't read the manuals). Second - way better than plastic, its a perfectly legit METAL kitchen tool. It's handy, easy to clean, and easy to stash in a drawer.

Not dishwasher safe at all.
