Given the module is sitting on top of the charger, does the charger get hotter due to lack of ventilation?

Only marginally. I run one sync module with & one without the holder. The plug in the holder is very slightly warmer than the one not in the holder. Mine has run pretty much continuous for over a year in the holder with not issue. Recommend it.

Does this work with the Blink XT2 plug?

As far as I am aware the blink xt and the xt2 modules are the same. . So, yes.

Can i use this on my android phone to view video if out if the country?.
