Wonderful resource for worship planners
Superb resource for anyone planning worship in these seasons. It is keyed to the Revised Common Lectionary, but you don't need to be a lectionary user to find it helpful. With the Kindle Edition. It is fairly easy to copy and paste portions of the book to set up scripts for readers. Well worth th price!

Wren's star turn
All of the service material, while suitable, is evidently composed by the author and his wife, to include the suggested music, for which vocals are provided w/o melodies or accompaniment. The book comes with a CD, which is just a copy of the book, again, w/o anything to aid in assessing music difficulty, etc. Fees for use of copyrighted music used in book are not included, which I believe should have been included to the purchaser. This book is probably best used in a denominational setting which does not have a defined liturgical format, and in which the program will be used as presented.

CD is organized. too hard to use.
I was excited to get this book and CD to use this year for planning worship. But the CD is not organized. The pages numbers are not compatible and some items are simply missing. Without a useable CD this was way over priced. There are not multiples of suggestions for a service--1 for A, 1 for B, 1 for C. And the copy write rules included say there is to be no changes made. I am sorry I bought this book.

A Tremendous Advent Resource
If you are looking for a lectionary-based resource for Advent, Christmas and Epiphany, you have found it! In 2008, I used the Advent candle liturgies and the Lessons and Carols service for Year B. Brian Wren's use of language is powerful, thoughtful and beautiful, whether he is writing hymns, liturgy or prayers. Transferring liturgy from the CD directly into the bulletin (with appropriate attribution) and into my notes was fast and easy. Our lay leaders read the liturgy with confidence. In one of the busiest months of the church calendar, this resource gave me the gifts of time and peace of mind. I received an abundance of positive comments from the congregation about the Lessons and Carols service. Many people told me that it was the best Christmas Eve service in years! I look forward to returning to this book and CD for many years to come.

A Fresh Approach
Brian Wren's gift for words makes this book a valuable resource for those who are looking for fresh and meaningful approaches to holiday liturgies. He includes several new hymns as well as calls to worship, prayers, responsive readings and blessings. The Christmas Eve services are particularly beautiful. This book includes resources for lectionary as well as non-lectionary users. There is a helpful index of themes and topics as well as an index of scripture references.I have enjoyed using this book for my advent devotional reading.

Excellent liturgical resource
This is an excellent liturgical resource that Broadway Church has used many times. It is full of prayers, call to worships and communion liturgies with language that is relevant and meaningful. The material is appropriate for all seasons. We used one of the communion liturgies today for our All Saints worship celebration. The CD that comes with the book makes it very easy to transfer the prayers and liturgies into worship bulletins. I highly recommend this resource to other church musicians.
