The jar alone. I have 3 of them. I love them. They are great!!

Q: Is the pour spout airtight when not in use?

Yes. It's not sealed so technically not airtight but it closes snuggly enough to keep it from picking up a refrigerator taste. I'm very pleased with my carafe.

Q: Can you put it in the microwave if you remove the lid?

Probably, but I never have. The glass isn't super thick so I'd be careful.
