Butler's Lives of the Saints (4 Volume Set) Paperback – December 1, 1956

Considering these wonderful books would be only $50.00 each it is a fantastic buy. Informative and beautiful. You can start reading the Saint of the day regardless of what day of the year you started. Love, love, love these books.

I wrote a review for this book but seems it went onto a different book. THIS book’s description says 4 volumes but it’s only 1. I sent it back. I reordered the hardcover. Hope it has all 4 volumes. The paper is only 1 volume, but description says 4.

A very eye appealing set of four hardcovers books with a very thorough collection of the saints biographies. I'm sure it doesn't contain every single saint, but it is the best collection I've found so far. Well packed and shipped promptly. It does not come with a cardboard sleeve of any kind to tuck the books together for on-shelf storage purposes, in case you might be wondering about this but I wasn't really expecting one.

I have been reading these 4 books daily for about 30 years and have learned a tremendous amount of history of my Catholic faith. They also have information on the martyrs of my faith, those who have achieved sainthood, archangels, etc. since the time of Jesus Christ. When we bought a second home in another state, I ordered another set for that residence, so I would have them at both residences. I highly recommend this set and I have the leather bound as I use them daily. I was glad Amazon.com had this available to ship to the new residence.

Later reprint than the one pictured, but NOT revised. So, it's what I wanted. Books appear new and pristine. Just took a long timeto get the order straight. These books were once quite expensive,- originally $400 for all 4 books - and I like classics, so the price is good for me. I really only needed volumes 3 and 4 but it was MUCH easier to just order all 4.

The book itself that I received is excellent, but the wording of the reseller ad or its placement within search for 4 volume set mislead me to think that for the price of $15 I was purchasing a 4 volume used set of Butlers as opposed to a single volume. Perhaps I misread the ad and my old eyes are getting tired. Besides that service was great and received product in a timely manner.The single volume will do until I can reorder the 4 volume set of Butlers.

The item listing describes it as a four volume set. I received only volume 4 of the set. Volumes 1 through 3 were not included.Very disappointing, bordering on fraud.

For anyone who has an interest in catholic saints like me this is an invaluable four volume reference set. Excellent for research. Well worth the purchase price

It's just a great set of books.Every Catholic home should have these. Alban Butter did a beautiful job for the Church
