Lifts are very easy to install, it fact almost a snap. It is true that the lifts are inverted from the position of the original lifts. This is because the ball joints on the car are different sizes. The ball on the car is smaller size than the one on the hood. These lifts have the larger opening on the cylinder end, forcing installation just backward from the original. Removal of the old ones is done by using a screwdriver to release the clip on each end and pushing it off the ball joint. The BOX1 replacements just snap on. REMEMBER for your SAFETY have someone hold the hood while you do the replacement or prop the hood up in secure indents in the frame and hood. Almost anyone can do the replacements. Very satisfied with the lift capability of the replacements received.

I'm a professional mechanic. These hood lifts are equal to any others I have used. The installation, fit, and function are superb and the cost is much less than many others.

Works as should

After watching YouTube on how to change these, I followed the directions and in less than 15 minutes they were installed. Some have complained the the large and small sockets were backwards and they had to install the rods upside down. The simple fix takes a couple of minutes. Simple unscrew to two sockets and switch them around. 2 minutes tops.

it did not fit my vehicle

Easy to install. Fit well on my buick lacrosse. No complaints so far, especially for the price.

Arrived earlier than expected. They are reversed from the originals on my 2006 LaCrosse but were easily installed and work great.

They fit fine just had to figure out how they went on.
