Q: Are the handles able to swap direction, my current door handles are the opposite direction to the photo...

Yes it says it in the description. Universal fit for left and right hand use.

Q: What size are the fixing screws?

The lock comes with two different lengths of fixing screw that should fit any door. Sorry I can't give a precise answer as the locks I bought are already fitted (it was also possible to use the screw from the old locks).

Q: Does it matter if the back plate is longer than my current one? the other measurements all match?

Make double sure that all measurements match and that the extra length does not foul anything. Mine fitted very well and the measurements quoted were spot on.

Q: Is it jus one handle or a set of 2 (inside/outside)?

It's a set of both inside & out, including the spindle, screws and springs. Just check your screw fixing positions and door width. I had to cut the screws down
