Perfect
One of the best purchases I’ve made in years. I got it for about $50–60 (roughly half off), and it completely solved the weak water stream and stubborn soap-scum rinsing issues that had frustrated me for so long. (Upgrading my bar soap also helped with the stubborn soap-scum rinsing problem.) Showering is finally enjoyable again. The power is perfect—not even close to painful—even with the flow restrictor removed. The swivel moves smoothly while still feeling solid, and both the flood mode and the power setting are fully satisfying. I also love the look: impressive but understated, not gaudy, the perfect size, and not nearly as heavy as some reviews claimed (at least the 6-jet version I bought). I did get a small two-drops-per-second leak where the arm meets the head, but I’m sure that’s just from using too little plumber’s tape. Honestly, the first shower—and every one since (I’ve used it daily for a week now)—has been so good that I haven’t even bothered fixing it yet. Update 1 week later 11/28/25: Just checked the spot where the leak was to see if I still needed to reinstall the showerhead with extra layers of plumber's tape, and the leak's gone now- on both the flood and power settings. Perfect. So I don't need to do anything.

Amazing Water Pressure and Versatile Spray Settings
I recently installed the Speakman S-2252 Signature Icon Anystream Shower Head in my bathroom, and it has completely transformed my shower experience. The high-pressure water flow is fantastic, and the 2.5 GPM setting ensures a strong, refreshing shower every time. The Anystream technology allows you to easily adjust the spray pattern, from a gentle rain to a more intense massage. I love how versatile the settings are, and the spray feels both luxurious and effective. The polished chrome finish looks sleek and modern, and the solid brass construction gives it a durable, high-quality feel. It was easy to install, and I haven’t experienced any issues with water pressure or leakage. Overall, this showerhead offers great value with its adjustable settings, excellent water pressure, and sturdy design. Highly recommend it to anyone looking to upgrade their shower! Pros: Strong water pressure Multiple spray settings for customization Durable solid brass construction Easy to install Sleek polished chrome finish Cons: None so far

The Ne Plus Ultra of shower heads with one (fixable) issue….
Most people would define a good shower as a sufficiently strong stream of sufficiently warm water in a spray pattern that is directional and covers much of one’s physique. Speakman’s AnyStream shower heads are truly the benchmark. Many of us first discovered these shower heads while staying in a five five star hotel in New York or London, and it defined our view on what an ultimate shower should be. The build quality of these shower heads…..tank like. Forever durability is a function of design, material and build, but for something to really last it also needs to be as simple as it can be and still work. Superfluous features just mean more components to break. Speakman AnyStream shower heads are also a benchmark in this sense. They are a lot less complex than any number of spa-type shower systems, and yet create an equal to or better showering experience. We have been using the 8 module heads and the smaller 6 module heads for years. While the 8 module head is aesthetically dramatic, from a shower quality standpoint, it’s hard to tell the 8 from the 6; and lately when we added an AnyStream head to a new house, we tend to favor the 6 module model. 2 GPM is sufficient for the shower to feel luxurious given the flow and water pattern of a Speakman AnyStream head if your water pressure is sufficient. If not, you may want to get the 2.5 GPM model. CONS?: For the past few years, all-brass Speakman shower heads, when installed correctly, are EXTREMELY difficult to adjust the direction of flow when new, thanks to excessive friction in the ball joint pivot. This did not used to be the case on older Speakman heads. This issue is well-documented on the Web. But this isn’t a major con because there's an easy fix. After you install the head, work the ball joint pivot by moving the head up and down, side to side for a few dozen iterations which will loosen up the pivot. It also can help to coat the ball joint pivot with clear silicone grease when you install the head, but the more important fix is just to work the ball joint until it loosens up slightly and allows the angle of spray to be adjustable. All in all, Speakman AnyStream shower heads aren’t inexpensive, but they are way more inexpensive than the vast majority of super-premium comparable shower systems. There are inexpensive plastic, big box store versions of Speakman heads, but the one to get is all metal, solid brass, with a solid brass control lever. If you’re someone who loves simple luxuries, things built to last, a relative bargain compared to competitive items and most of all, a perfect shower; and if you haven’t experienced a Speakman AnyStream, you may want to give it a try.

Stronger flow, better showers!
We live in a 1931 home and have always had lame, weak shower pressure. I thought it was inevitable. I finally asked a plumber how we could improve pressure and he suggested buying a 2.5 gpm shower head. I looked at reviews on Amazon and chose this one. Couldn’t be happier! Easy to install and immediate results! Love the high pressure and the easy to adjust flow. A life changer! I love hot showers with high pressure at hotels and now we have it at home. Finally! Great product 🚿

It is a high quality shower head
TL;DR: We liked it enough to purchase a second for our guest bath. It is a bit pricey, but if you expect to use it for 10+ years, the average cost per year is reasonable. If the price seems steep or you plan to sell/ move/ redecorate/ remodel sooner, you can probably get very similar, if not identical, performance from one of Speakman’s plastic offerings at a small fraction of the price. First impressions: The interior is solid brass, and the housing is metal. So it feels as good as it looks (assuming you like the simple style). Unlike plastic, it will stay that way. I am confident that it will not need to be replaced for many, many years, if not decades. How does it work? We bought this after a very favorable experience with a Speakman shower while on vacation. That one must’ve been a 2.5 GPM flow head because this one is not *quite* as wonderful. Ours is a 2.0 GPM model. Still, it delivers DRAMATICALLY better experience (pressure and coverage) than the 1.75 GPM head that the builder had installed. It is very good—the best of the “low flow” heads we have experienced. Another plus: it is much quieter than many other low-flow heads. Key differentiator: The ability to adjust the flow continuously from a denser “heavy” flow through to a more needle-like effect (with greater coverage) makes it a winner for us. My preference is toward the former. My better half, who has much thicker and longer hair than mine, likes the latter. Nice touch: All that is required to install it is an adjustable wrench because it comes with enough Teflon tape to install it at least twice. So, why not 5 stars? The standard price. We find it to be an excellent shower head, but we also “expect” it to be for the price. So, it did not exceed expectations. On sale, the value proposition would be better.

This is a great choice
to improve so-so water pressure. I bought my first one of these these 6 years ago to replace the lackluster showerhead at what was then a brand-new home. It worked great. But when I moved from there a few months ago, I couldn't find the original showerhead that came with the house so I had to leave the Speakman behind for the new owners. My new home has decent pressure but the showerhead didn’t deliver a strong enough flow. I really wanted something more powerful. For the past few months I've been reading the reviews here on Amazon on the various Speakman heads and some other brands. I held off buying one because it seemed like with every model, there were people who were disappointed. I was also concerned Speakman may have made changes to the head in the past few years since several people remarked it was difficult to figure out how to remove the flow restrictor and you had to be really careful. I finally decided a few weeks ago to buy this same model and couldn't be happier. What a difference it makes -- it really delivers a powerful flow making for a totally invigorating shower. It was very easy to remove the black "O" restrictor -- nothing to unscrew, just reach into the top with a needle nose pliers or long tweezer and gently remove it. It took my home maintenance person less than 3 minutes and I watched him closely as he did it. It took just another minute or two for him to replace the showerhead. The supplied tape is more than adequate. The existing shower arm and flange were strong enough to support it (knowing the Speakman would be heavier than the old head, I I bought a new one just in case, but will be returning it as it wasn’t needed.) When the old showerhead was removed, I saw that the flow restrictor was still in it. For comparison, before hooking up the Speakman, we removed the restrictor on the old head and hooked it back up. It did make a difference, which had me wondering whether I even needed a new showerhead as opposed to just needing the restrictor removed in the old one. Then we hooked up the Speakman. The Speakman was much so more powerful I had no doubts I made the right choice. It is really solidly built and I know from my old one it will last for years. So if your current showerhead is just ho-hum (as opposed to awful, which mine wasn’t, so I can’t speak to that) and you just want more power, I highly recommend this one and just removing the black ring restrictor.

Perfection!
Life's too short to take wimpy showers with cheap showerheads! I bought the Speakman 5 Jet: (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0028XHSHA/ref=wms_ohs_product?ie=UTF8&psc=1) several years ago and recently having moved we needed another showerhead in the new house. We took the 5 jet with us so now we have two Speakmans in the new house to compare. Some of the reviews on here complain about this showerhead not being strong enough. As far as I can see, the only way that could happen is they have lousy water pressure to begin with or they didn't take the water regulator out. We took the regulator out. (the black ring and the white thing) Just to comment on how ridiculous I think water regulators in showerheads are,...My opinion is that water regulators end up causing people to use even more water because it takes a lot longer to get rinsed off. Having had the 5 jet in our previous home that did not have great water pressure and then installing it in a home that does have great water pressure is definitely proof that this showerhead or any showerhead for that matter performs best with good water pressure to begin with. If anyone has found a showerhead that can perform miracles and create pressure out of lousy pressure I would love to know! There really is no comparison on the improvement of our old house verses this house, other than to say the shower experience went from good enough to invigorating. Now to compare the 5 jet verses 6 jet for those who are interested: Both showerheads are attached to a Multi-Pure shower filter: http://www.amazon.com/MultiPure-mpsffh-Shower-Filter/dp/B002ZP346U/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1367082517&sr=8-1&keywords=multi-pure+shower+filter (which by the way is fantastic) This will naturally slow the stream down a bit so I assume if they weren't attached to the filter, the spray would be even more powerful. They both give us a fantastic shower even with the filter slow down. I have to say honestly that I think the 5 jet in the above link may have even a bit more "zing" than this 6 jet. Maybe because there's one less jet to push water through? At nearly half the price you get a darn good shower, but the downside is that housing of the 5 jet feels like it's made of plastic whereas this Speakman s-2252 is not. I would say if that doesn't matter to you and you're on a tight budget, go with the other. If I had it to do over again I would still choose this one because it is solid and looks like it will last forever. I wanted to add that we leave both heads on the highest spray setting and don't care about using any of the other settings. They could have just as well left that feature off as far as we're concerned. I suppose maybe for rinsing hair out one of the other settings might be useful, but the high spray works great for that.

A very pleasing shower head and easy to install
Liked it more than I thought. I needed to replace a Groehe shower head that was crudded up from deposits (even though I have a water-softener installed) after 16 years of use and for which the flow had lessened to make showers not particularly effective. It was plastic, with a polished brass finish, and I wanted a metal replacement that was highly rated on Amazon. After some considerable reviewer research I decided to give the Speakman a try. I also read about several reviewers taking out flow restrictors (the 0-ring and white plastic perforated disk) to get better flow. Removing the Groehe took some work as it was encased in a plastic covering and I had to ease the collar away from the wall to locate a set screw, loosen the set screw to move the collar further away from the wall, then twist the pipe counter-clockwise to remove the entire fixture away from the wall. That being done, the rest was easy. First I inserted the Speakman shower arm, remembering to teflon-tape both ends clockwise as you look at the pipe, with the collar close to the wall end. The collar is a friction fit so you just have to move it forward a bit as you screw the pipe into the wall water supply. Make very sure you are threading it properly. Then I put on the shower head loosely to see if I liked the stream. Before doing so I ran water through the pipe to see the flow. I estimate it was 7 gallons/minute. Since the restrictor is calibrated to 2.5 gpm per regulations, I concluded that there was sufficient pressure for this head to function properly. I liked the flow so I completed the installation without further ado regarding removing any of the shower head's components. So I'd recommend trying this out first before going further with flow restrictors. You just may not need to and its better for the planet to conserve water. The water stream from this shower head I found to be very pleasant. Sufficient spread and pleasing pressure. So I'm really delighted with this product. It's construction is solid brass with a high polish and it looks simple and high quality. I think many of the top-rated shower heads out there are good and what may differentiate them is the feel of the showering experience. Good luck with it and hope you enjoyed this review.
