Great Pictures!
Without any previous experience making south Asian food this cookbook is a great introduction full of relatively simple recepies! With a little planning you can stock your spice cabinet and be ready to preprare most anything. A big plus for me is that every recepie has a GORGEOUS full page photograph, which helps with cooking food that is not familiar. After sucess with a few different recepies I had to write a review after making the Dum Kay Pasanday last night, what an easy, different and flavorful dish. This cookbook will not dissappoint!

The recipes are easy to follow and make great food
The recipes are easy to follow and make great food. It's a really nice looking book too with great pictures of the meals which is my favorite part since I'm honestly too lazy to cook as much as I would like, so I'm banking on my next girlfriend being as excited to try all these dishes as I am.

karachi food is amazing!!
On my first trip to singapore I fell in love with indian food in particular to roti pratas and curry. For me they have amazing roti pratas in particular nothing like any indian restaurants here in Florida. On my second trip we found other amazing indian food places that were even better. Then we found Kebabchi Charcoal BBQ and wowwww!!! This is karachi pakistani/indian food but this place was the best yet. we loved the currys and the various nans etc etc. Orlando florida indian food is boring dry nans while they had awesome butter garlic nans and other various types that were better than orlando. We love karachi food! If you want to try something new I recommend this food . Its better than the traditional indian food. I wish you guys the best.

Pretty but leaves a lot to be desired...
Pictures are vivid and nice. However there’s not many recipes as I hoped. There’s a chutneys section some very intro dishes and the dessert section only has a couple traditionally Karachi recipes. Sorry but Apple pie and “Black Forest cake” are not what I look for in a Karachi recipe cook book.

Spices spices spices!
Incredible use of a variety of spices, and easy to make dishes that make me feel like a professional and outside the normal course of the different cuisines we typically eat in the US

I collect a lot of cookbooks and this one probably has the most photos of any book I own. It's hard for me to pick a recipe without seeing a photo first and it especially helps when the pictures are so gorgeous. There aren't any Pakistani restaurants near me so this book has been my first introduction to the cuisine. So far, everything I've tried has been delicious! My husband usually doesn't like the texture of okra but quickly converted when he tried them fried. The chicken kofta meatballs were also a big hit. I also liked the simplicity of the orange salad and the rich flavors of the carrot delight. I feel like the recipes are a good mix of vegetarian and meat options while all still using a ton of fresh herbs. Overall, I'm really happy with this book and look forward to trying more recipes!

Gorgeous, accessible introduction to Pakistani cuisine, perfect for Indian food lovers too
Karachi Kitchen is a fantastic introduction into Pakistani cuisine that I'd recommend to anyone who enjoys Indian food or simply wants an accessible entry point into a new cuisine. From appetizers to main courses to desserts, the author takes you on a whirlwind tour of her favorite recipes--accompanied by touching, entertaining autobiographical tidbits and gorgeous photos--that makes you appreciate the diversity of the cuisine (not everything has 15 spices), and, well, quite hungry! I found the recipes intuitively written and easy to follow, and the particular emphasis on how to make many different sauces allows you to introduce a little Pakistani flavor to whatever you're eating, which expands the reach of the relatively focused set of recipes. Overall, highly recommend.

Wonderful!
This is an amazing book! I am an adventurous eater but have not had much exposure to Pakistani food in my life. The first time I tried the food I fell in love with it and I’m so excited to have this wonderful book so I can make the recipes on my own. These dishes are delicious and are not too difficult for an amateur chef like me to make. The book is full of beautiful photographs and inspiring passages from the author. I loved this book so much that I bought one for myself and one for my parents as a Christmas present.
