Fixed a mushroom capacitor on a Trane unit. It's what came out and it's what I put back in. Fit the same and works the same.

2nd purchase. Got this one as a backup so I'll have it on hand if the other one goes out.

I purchased one and checked the capacitance and it was over spec. Tried and got a replacement and the 2nd unit was also over spec. 200uF+ instead of 135-162ufNot going to try again with this item. Too high start current will eventually burn out the motor on the AC unit

My Amercan Standard air conditioner failed on a Saturday morning with outside temperatures above 100°F. I entered the information from the failed capacitor into a search box and was shown this item as a direct replacement. I placed the order Saturday evening and received the package late Sunday afternoon. The new capacitor was as described and was an easy swap out. I'm now living in cool comfort and saved over $150 by doing the repair myself.

We have lived in our house for almost 40 years. Our Trane 5 ton HVAC system keeps our house comfortable through all seasons. I check components semi-annually and when the system fails. When a component fails or falls out of specs, I replace it. These capacitors last at least three years in our outdoor compressor unit. I'm not in the HVAC servicing business and don't stock multi-farad capacitors to minimize truck storage space. I have 4 or 5 specific to the purpose capacitors in a box next to the inside fan-coil blower. I check the capacitance of each when I receive them and again when I install them, and write the date on them when installed to know what makes and models are reliable.
