The Geology Book (Wonders of Creation)

Christian History of Geology
I love this book, it clearly explains the difference between evolution belief system and the Creation belief system. It talks about how easy and fast it is to fossilize plants or animals when all the conditions and minerals needed are present, and how coal also forms fast. It's a wonderful book to read for myself or for me to read aloud to our 9 year old.

Excellent homeschool resource
As a homeschooling family of 6 (1-10yo's), I love this book. As others rightly point out, it's an excellent resource on geology from a Christian, young earth perspective. I'm reading it to my older 5 children (3-10yo). Although the words go over the heads of my 3 and 5 yo's, my 7yo and up is able to understand what I'm reading. However, I do substitute easier words when something complex is explained. ;) I love that there is a free study guide on the website. Although it is geared for much older ages (definitely above my 10yo's level), I'm able to use the basic questions and make up simple, age-appropriate worksheets for my young children. Love this book, and highly recommend it! I will be buying more Master Books in the future!

I believe my grand girl will like this well done book
Lovely Book. Well done for your up and coming geologist. I think it's important to support your children (or grand kids, in my case) in learning as much as they can while they show an interest in a subject. It may stick! I believe my grand girl will like this well done book. It breaks down the subject into easy to understand segments with information put in such a way to allow it to make sense and be interesting. I rec. it for anyone who wants to understand how our world works. And hopefully Great to encourage an interest into a passion to know more.

Call it...theology...please.
The reviewer herein tagged as "a reviewer" is quite correct in his/her assessment of this book. I was looking for a basic geology science book, and since I have known the Morris family, I thought I would find an objective science book. Wrong. This book is targeted to children. What I find remarkable is the comment by another reviewer, a "Brown," who makes the following remarkable observation in favor of the book: "Also, to the reviewer that commented that this book belongs in the "religious section," if that were the case, then any book trying to present the case for evolution would belong there as well. In order for anything to be accepted as scientific fact, one criterea is that it has to be observable. Anything beyond that is restricted to the area of theory and (yes, even for an evolutionist) faith."Now, if what this reviewer says is true, then Dr. Morris, take note. In fact, pp. 73-75 (chapter 8) describes "the future earth", according to the Bible, of course, but then within the context of a dispensational, pre-millennial theological context (theology is not science). If what Brown (above) says is correct, that true science must fall within the realm of the 'observable' (which I would agree), then we have a real problem with Dr. Morris' book as he jumps from the observable, within the limits of the Bible (which is apriori assumption) to the purely spectulative in chapter 8, which is purely deductive reasoning.Sadly, this book and most of the Institute for Creation Research (ICR) is essentially what I call a "Tinker Tank" (not Think Tank) for creationist theology, and not a genuine think-tank for real creation science. These folks spend their time antagonizing low-level evolutionists into "debates" which they edit to favor their worldview, and little, if any, core time in the field or laboratory. Here again, Philip Johnson, Michael Behe, et al., make the scientific case for creation within a more unblemished scientific context. You may wish to wet your appetite with the excellent DVD, "The Privileged Planet." I wish I could give more than one star to this book. I truly wish that these folks would enter the scientific arena without theological assumptions, and provide honest research, as others have, and not stand on the shoulders of theology. Writing about science does not science make.

Great Science resource for Christian families and homeschoolers!
I love that these books are available! It is so difficult to find good quality science resources for use in our Christian homeschool that do not have evolutionary /old Earth content! This book is great! It is good quality and very readable, with great pictures too! Great for my younger elementary kids, but would work just as well for middle and high school kids too :) I will buy more from this series!

Well worth it!
I’ve bought a couple of the books from this series with this being the most recent and am very pleased. I am going to group all of them together as a perfect And well rounded High school freshman General Science course. It is easily broke down for younger siblings to use as well but I like it so much I’d rather save it until they can fully use it.

Beautiful Book
This is an book without the theory of evolution being woven in as fact. It's thorough, colorful, and it includes a tiny bit of biblical history. All aspects of a thorough geology study are covered. This book is perfect for someone with a Creationist worldview. This is one of the best purchases I've ever made for our homeschooling.

geology book
Good book but too brief. This is not a Geology text book but a brief introduction to Geology. It is a good book to use as a supplement to a more complete geology book.
