Keeh-riste! This is a badass knife!
This knife is far larger, heavier, and sturdier than the product description lets on. The images simply can't do any justice to the solid feel in your grip and the heft as you swing this blade. That's right -- this Crocodile Dundee knife on steroids is long enough to swing like a short sword. It also feels hefty enough for chopping wood, which I'll be definitely use this for during the summer now that I've realized how substantial this knife is. For the price, you REALLY can't go wrong. The only con I can think of is the cheesy slogan printed on the blade and the weekend warrior wannabe tag on the haft. These are easily ignored by all the massive pluses described above, no question.

Verdict is Still Out on Functionality - Looks Awesome
Is this knife good for... Collecting? Yes. Survival? Maybe. This is definitely an impressive knife, at least visually. The verdict is still out on how it will perform though. When you buy it, definitely decide on what your purpose for buying it is: Looks, or Functionality. If you're going for looks to add to a collection, I have no issues with it, and say go for it. It definitely looks awesome. But it seems to be built more for show and pride than for functionality. That remains to be seen though, and I'll get to that later. First off, it's HUGE...almost 16.5 inches long. About an inch short of a small machete. I literally have a machete that's barely bigger. The knife has a good weight to it, and the overall design SEEMS perfect for use.... BUT, I do have a few issues with it. The Marine Force Recon thing sounds really cool when you're buying it. Upon seeing it though, being a military man myself, I can tell you that no soldier would carry this thing due to it's size. It's straight-up impractical. And the Force Recon logo on the handle is gaudy as hell. I covered it up with some OD green 100mph tape. Anything gaudy on a knife renders it non-tactical. That's why I said earlier it seems built for show. Also, you are going to have to spend some time sharpening if you want to use it functionally it as it's not extremely sharp when you get it. Ergonomically it's pretty good. The handle is about as good a design as I've seen in that I don't think it would slip out of your hand if you were in an intense situation. That's one thing that I have an issue with on most knives (including bowies)...that the handles have very little actual grip and if you got into combat with it, either with a wild animal or human attacker, they can easily slip out of your hand. Most people won't ever be in those situations, but to me a good survival knife means (if you had to) you could do some damage against a wildcat or such. (I'd recommend staying out of those situations though.) Regarding steel, I'm not an expert on that so I won't comment. People can argue about steel grades all day but the bottom line is that only time and use will tell. The sheath is garbage. It's black nylon weave with a liner to protect the blade. It's bulky and hangs on your left side. I'm going to put it through it's paces when I go camping and hiking. But I can tell you one thing...it cannot be the only knife you carry if your goal is survival. It's label as a survival knife isn't so accurate. It might end up being a great secondary knife that you carry in your pack. I'd be more likely to go with 7in Ka-Bar or smaller bowie (made of high quality steel or carbon steel) at your side. I'm gonna say though if your goal for it is hacking or sawing, it might be better to carry a small hatchet. I'll add more info after I've tested it for a while. Overall not bad. If your goal is collecting, definitely go for it. If your goal is to use is as a survival knife, then be informed before you buy it, and be willing to test it out for a while to see if it will work for you.

I love that it comes with a thick black nylon sheath ...
This hunting knife is incredible. It's not only intimidating looking, but it is well crafted and weighted perfectly for my hand. I love that it comes with a thick black nylon sheath which can be worn on a pant belt. Please use caution when handling this knife because it can easily cut through cardboard ect.. This means that means it could give you a serious gash. Infact, I dropped this monster from the height of my waist and when it landed on the wooden floorboards, it was pointed downward, but still standing up in the air. I am very fortunate that I didn't lose a toe. If you want a knife that can be used for hunting and such, don't pass this one up. I'm sure glad I didn't.

Aggressive looking form, function?
Edit: Steel so mild I cut a new cutting plane by pushing hard on a DMD grater style sharpener. I wouldn’t ever put my life in the hands of this show piece. The bad side of “Made in China”. - - - So I still haven’t managed to put an edge on this knife. They safety ground the cutting edge so far, that it’s not possible to just regrind the edge. I need to cut a whole new cutting plane just to be able to get a 30 degree edge. That is all to say, this knife is a show piece. It will take significant work to be a functional knife. But it is possible, and certainly is not something id want to hypothetically encounter.

BE-A-U-TI-FUL
When I first opened the package and held it my hand I couldn’t stop saying how the word beautiful. It is very sturdy, and maybe I’m wrong, but it feels like it weighs 2 pounds. I’m starting to collect knives and so far this is the heaviest and nicest one. It is very sharp! I barely rubbed my finger on the blade to test it out and I think I may have slightly cut it. So be careful when handling it.

Love this knife and every person who holds it in my house falls in love. Not the greatest steel but comes sharp as hell and handles very nice for the size. The sheath is left handed but the knife will fit backwards in the sheath for right handed people but is still cheap and Im looking for a replacement sheath asap otherwise love this knife. I had my car being broken into and when me and that knife and my 100 pound dog came at the 5 guys it became the idiot Olympic sprint lol ......buy one you wont regret it !

I re-edged the blade to around 60 degrees and removed the logo on the handle (ground down the lettering and resprayed it) as it looked tacky, probably going to sharpen the serrated bit on the back so it has a use

Hg B
