Career Warfare: 10 Rules for Building a Successful Personal Brand on the Business Battlefield

Helps you navigate the corporate ladder
This book is legit. 3 new hires at my company got killed because they violated some of the rules in this book.Arguing and complaining about their boss violated rule 2. Coming into work with fancy shoes and sweaters violated rule 6. Spreading rumors about which female coworkers were hot or ugly violated rule 1.They made a bank salary in the corporate healthcare industry and all they had to do was not ruin their brands the way they did. I have read this book cover to cover 3 times and it is doing wonders for navigating the complex world of corporate politics. Even if you only end up applying only 1 or 2 of the rules in your career, this book is a game changer.

Highly Recommended
This is the kind of book you wish you had read before your first job, but when the student is ready...Firstly its an enjoyable read, but then the perspective and insight really speaks to you and you cant put it down.I recommended this book to my friend and he said "...maybe if I was working in Corporate America..." But this book has solid wisdom for anybody with a job. To be honest I wasn't taken by the title or the cover but this book is pure gold and gives you a great framework for your day to day work.

Essential in your career
This books tells you very well the dos and don'ts of your career decisions. The concept of seeing an office like a town where gossip will determine your reputation is awesome and opens your eyes to stuff that you think shouldn't matter, but does matter a lot when other people decide if they promote you or not. Please read it before you do the stupid mistakes that bury your career in an office.

Easy read, some simple ideas to get and stay ahead
Not coming from a corporate background, I found the case studies and anecdotes quite interesting. This is not a book about management or leadership, but the author touches on some of the more unfortunate characteristics of human nature when we are placed in competition with one another! Whilst I wouldn't make it my primary career progression manual, it makes for a good read on that long plane or train ride.

Morpheus: "You take the blue pill, the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill, you stay in wonderland, and I show you how deep the rabbit hole goes. This iBook isla like the red pill, it will show you the real behaviour of organization life, how to survive and create/improve your personal brand. It is a wake up call.

Must Read For Picking Up Career Cues!
Hard the earlier version of this book. Got this for coworker, I was unable to meet him in his last two days. Newer Edition is really better and clearer.

Branding yourself and products/companies
The book says a lot of things you already know but don't really think about. The examples were quite helpful. When he explains the different types of bosses was superb, especially for people who haven't had much experience like me. It sheds a light on what to possibly expect.

Great Wisdom in this book! 4/5
Some good wisdom here, but I wish it more boss types and techniques to work around. I'm about 50% into the book as I write this. Maybe I'll update later.
