Absolutely Fabulous
I can not sing the praises of this SIM card enough. It is so much cheaper and easier than anything else on the market including great family plans. This is good for 30 days from your start date, then expires. This is a UK phone number so it functions pretty much like a phone you would have, if you lived in the UK, as far as text and phone calls go. The data however is good for a LONG list of countries. Setting this new SIM card up is like setting up a new phone, easy, I got off the plane and downloaded Google, Google maps, Facebook Messenger and Kindle. Then I set up and signed into email. I did the rest later at the apartment. I traveled to the UK, Hungary, Malta and France on a 4 week trip last year and it worked seamlessly. I listened to music as I walked around cities and museums and I Googled anything I felt like. I watched Youtube videos on buses. 12 GB is a lot and I only used about half with hard use. I luxuriated in all that overseas data! Things to know for the easiest use: 1. Arrange for your start date before your trip. If the website doesn't confirm or accept the registration, don't fool around with it just shoot off a quick email and they will handle it on their end. 2. Take one of those little gizmos to open the SIM tray with you! Don't forget! I had to use an earring. 3. Have a safe place to put the at home SIM card you remove from your phone. For gods sakes don't forget to back up your phone to the cloud right before you leave. 4. Allow a half hour to let it do its thing to get set up. Don't need to use it when you step off the plane. 4. Make sure your phones settings are set correctly. Allow time to download your apps that you want to use from the cloud, on a slower 3G network than what Americans are used to. Thats just how it is overseas. 5. For gods sakes make sure your phone is unlocked. 6. Expect text messages from your home carrier trying to get you to use their plan during your trip. It's creepy and I don't know how they do it, ignore them. 7. Expect text messages advising you to "top off" your account from this carrier pretty much from the get go, you don't need to unless you make calls back home or outside of the UK. 8. I never tried to use this card to call or text home because then you DO have to add money to your account. Consider WhatsApp, Messenger and other apps of that sort, but understand whoever you want to contact needs the app of your choice too. 9. Expect to see different carriers pop up in your settings, as you move from country to country, its fine, it's the companies they have their contracts with. 10. You can't accidentally run up a bill unless you start calling people back home and yakking. You can't call home without giving them your CC# and paying call and by the minute fee's. 11. Lastly for gods sakes don't forget to back up your phone right before you leave to come home or first thing before you switch back to your home SIM card. HAVE A GREAT TRIP!

Data usage was very difficult
I really hoped that this SIM would work. My sons bought a 3 SIM in England last year and used it in Sicily, England and Denmark without any issues. I did not have the same experience. First, the setup was difficult. I installed it in my unlocked Samsung S6 in the USA 2 days before leaving for Europe. After installing the SIM, it did not work. I chatted with a 3 representative for an hour and eventually the phone started working several hours later. Either my working with them to initialize the SIM worked, or it just took several hours. I don't know which. I received many text messages from 3, including 2 that contained setup information to make data and MMS message work correctly. I accepted both. Anyway I traveled to Budapest Hungary, Bratislava Slovakia, Vienna, Melk and Linz in Austria and Prague Czech Republic. I intended to use this SIM for data only to communicate using apps like gmail, Whatsapp, Google maps and TripAdvisor. Each time I entered a different country, I receive a text from 3 telling me what text messages, phone calls, etc would cost. As I was only using data, I ignored these messages. I should have had 6 GB of data for 30 days. Every time I tried to use data, it initially failed. Usually I could turn airplane mode on, then off to get data to work again. If that didn't succeed, if I restarted the phone, data would work again. But if I didn't use the phone for awhile, then tried data again, it failed again. Of course, most apps didn't tell you there was no data connection. I would use Weather Underground and it would tell me there was no data connection. I would then repeat the above steps until data worked again. This did the same thing in every country. It didn't matter if I had 5 bars or 1 bar of signal strength. I did not matter if I was in the major cities of these countries or small cities. It always acted the same. Luckily, I didn't need data that much as hotels and river cruise I was on had wifi available. I did most of my data there. So I did get data. It was just very annoying to get it. I used about 8 MB or my 6 GB ( I believe it was 12 GB if I used in England but only 6 GB outside England but since I used such a small amount, I have no idea whether those limits are accurate ). I would not recommend this card to anyone. Though, it would have cost me $10 per day using my AT&T plan.

I recently spent one month in France, Germany, and Italy. I had fantastic service everywhere, and barely used half of my allowed data even though I was constantly using Google Maps, Facebook, Instagram, Email, and browsing. The card was very easy to use - I just swapped out my SIM cards upon landing in Europe (same with going back to Canada). The card itself comes with three possible SIM card sizes in one, so you don't have to worry about it not fitting with your phone. I was also able to text and call without any additional charge. I could monitor my usage online, and they would even send me reminder texts if I was in a different country, and even one to tell me if I was on the right plan based on my usage. I will definitely be using this again on my next trip to Europe - highly recommend!

I brought this so I could be connected as soon as I landed in the Uk. It was really important for me to have 4G so I could navigate straight from Heathrow to my destination. So imagine my distress when I found out that the SIM does not in fact work at all. I had to then try and find a location selling SIMs at 6am during the lockdown... not easy. Overall it would be an understatement to say I am not happy with this product. It is just a scam the SIMs do not work please don't waste your money.

Do NOT purchase this product! I was sent a SIM card that had expired and didn’t realize until I was already abroad that I had essentially been sent a $50 SIM card with no data. Additionally, it advertises 50Gb but with ThreeUK you can only use 12Gb while outside of the uk before they charge you 3 pounds per Gb. FALSE ADVERTISING AND BOGUS PRODUCT!!
