Best Book on Aromatherapy!
One of the very best aroma therapy books on the market. I bought this book while raising my young children in the early 1990's. Now, I just purchased another for my grown daughter. Lavabre explains the healing properties of numerous essential oils (EO), and how-and-what to mix to create unique blends. This book is indispensable if you an artist, healer, soap maker, massage therapist, or anyone who would like to create scented oils, body products, soaps, candles, etc.with essential oils, and intelligence. Extensive index, rich resources, and glossary.

Exactly what I wanted
This is good for someone who is new to aromatherapy. It simply explains the processes that are used to make the oils & how to find pure unadulterated oils versus perfumed ones. It also has formulas for different ailments, which is what I was looking for. In addition, it lists some reputable companies to buy from. Overall, I would recommend this to anyone new to oils for health.

Very scientific! But good read anyway
The book is very informative. There are loads of charts and diagrams about things like the molecular structure of the oils. I glanced at those, but I think those are more for people who have a chemistry backgrounds or who are taking a certification class in aromatherapy. It also has the usual chapters on the history of aromatherapy and background information on distillation techniques, proper storage of essential oils and different methods of application. There are also more charts on various healing properties of oils and which oils are best suited for skincare, spiritual or emotional healing and which can be used for physical healing. What I especially liked about the book is that it did help me by categorizing oils into botanical families and then explaining how oils from this family heal. For example, the burseraceae (dry fire) family group include oils whose 'inner fire' act against the inner fire of the body. It helped me understand why for any ailment, there might be more than 1 oil recommended.I did find the layout of the book to be a little confusing and there isn't a table listing all the charts and tables, for quick reference. My book has sticky notes protruding from all sides with notes on which table is located where in the book.I would recommend this book to someone who is looking for more than just how to make a room smell pretty. I have found it useful for understanding the overall field of aromatherapy and for helping in creating my own mixtures of therapeutic oils.

Awesome tool.
This book is INCREDIBLE for the amateur aromatherapist. This is my third copy as I have given the first two away to friends that have shown an interest. A must have for any library.

A must for the serious aromatherapy user
I was referred to this book through a repeatable doctor and have found that the information in the book is very necessary if you are going to use essential oils to their potential. I highly recommend adding this book to your aromatherapy library.

There are 2 aroma therapy books with "workbook" in the title. I ordered the wrong one. Also i have the concept of a workbook being a teaching thing with fill-in-the-blank and/or etc. It is'nt.
