An all around amazing monitor from a manufacturer you probably never heard of
Update from 2+ Years Later, I still really like this monitor! No dead pixels, burn in, any issues at all. The top part of the 'E' finally fell off, but that's really the only wear this monitor shows. Obviously, there are newer versions of this monitor, so I'd buy those and not this model. Also, as for another reviewer's mention of unclear text, I haven't had that issue on mine. Maybe they really did start shipping a different model? I added a picture of text, and as I mention below, a smartphone picture isn't the best indicator but even it looks pretty good.===Since using this monitor, I've become extremely impressed with its in-use quality! The display is very vivid and accurate, very nice contrast for applications that require it. The ECO mode is very nice for low-light night conditions, it isn't gimmicky at all. Bezels and general design is also very appealing, you won't find an equivalent monitor for this price, period.***Here's the original review, edited a little but all points are still there:I was very reserved about buying this monitor, as it had/has no reviews yet but seemed like a decent price for the size and quality. I'll try to make this as in-depth as I can.First, the only cons. Packaging tape, as seen in one of the pictures, was used on the monitor screen. Not good. Soft film would've been much nicer. Cleaning off the residue from the packing tape caused a piece of the 'E' in 'SCEPTRE' to come off. It's only glued on the front, not embedded. However, the piece of the logo stuck back fine, and the residue from the tape wasn't too bad. That aside, there weren't any issues putting it together and setting it up. The instructions were written in clear English, with nice pictures. The stand goes together and comes off very easily (with the push of a button) for easy transport or mounting. Also, they included a full size screwdriver with both a flathead and phillips end. Very nice. Now onto usage- Using this monitor is a quite amazing experience. The bezels of this display are stunning, compared to most other high-end monitors out there for this price. The stand is solid, adjustable, and all metal. No creaky noises when you need to move it around or adjust the angle. The color accuracy appears to be pretty darn good, with whites showing no tint and a wide variety of colors shown, it doesn't feel like anything looks wrong. I've included some pictures, but don't expect a smartphone camera to capture it properly, it looks better in person than in the pictures. Contrast is high and the sharpness settings, although coarse, make a very nice difference. There are also enough settings to tweak the picture a good amount without being annoyingly difficult to navigate. I honestly love this monitor, and even with the packing issues, I'm really satisfied with this purchase and would recommend this fully, especially since it has yet to gain a reputation.(Oh, and the reason I actually picked this monitor is because it's 144 Hz, VESA mountable, and looks nice for this price. You will not find another monitor out there with these specs and quality for this little [upon the time of writing this review].)

Great monitor... except for 1 single dead pixel.
I was going to give this monitor 5 stars as it's an amazing monitor for the price. The 144Hz is fantastic and the colors are great with a bit of tweaking (Factory settings are pretty much bland.) There is a bit of light bleed from the boarder of the monitor but it isn't very noticeable and I did have a single dead pixel if not half dead as you can only see it on a white image/background. It's not very noticeable but it's something to consider. I've even considered returning it because of this single pixel, now that I've noticed it it's driving me nuts.Either than that, if the monitor didn't have this dead pixel it's WELL WORTH the $250 price tag as it's a great monitor.

Best Black Friday deal of this year.
I had a lot of doubts before I pulled the trigger on this monitor. Who's this brand? Is the monitor curve gonna be weird? Is 1080p enough for 27 inches? Is 144Hz really worth it? Are there gonna be dead pixels? Why's this only 200 bucks when everything else comparable is around $300?The price point promptly told my doubts to shove it, and I (luckily) picked it up. It showed up at my doorstep in a nice sturdy box, filled to the brim with molded Styrofoam to protect the monitor through the trip. Attaching the metal base was fairly straight-forward (all tools and instructions included) and when put together everything feels nice and sturdy. The monitor tilt is a little lacking on the lower end, however; I have to prop my stand up in the back about a half-inch to get an angle I'm comfortable with (disclaimer: I'm also a fairly short dude). The only hairy part of the whole operation was pulling off the protective (?) tape around the bezels; It seems like they used regular high-stick packing tape instead of a soft-tape, so this was a slow and stressful process instead of the usually satisfying feeling of removing protective film. Finally, I was ready to fire the thing up. Plugging in the cables was a little bit of a hassle, since they're in a recessed area that's hard to reach from the top. After fumbling those into place, I turned on the monitor and was pretty wowed. Even at 27 inches, the 1080p provides a sharp, clear picture with nice colors. The 1/4-inch thin bezel makes the picture look even bigger than it already is (which, coming from my previous 24-inch monitor, seems pretty big). To my relief, not a single dead pixel. Now to try out what I bought the thing for; the 144Hz gaming experience. I fire up a game and.... eh. Couldn't tell any difference from my 60Hz monitor. Which made complete sense, since the monitor was still running in 60Hz. Sceptre ships these things out set for 60Hz by default, and you have to set your refresh rate/turn on FreeSync through the monitor's fairly simple on-board menus. After I did that, I was blown away. 144Hz seems as smooth as butter, I had no idea how much of a difference it would make. I don't know if I can go back to 60hz at this point. My GPU is next on the upgrade list whenever Vega prices go down, so that I can get the full potential out of this monitor. The curve took a little getting used to, but after a couple of days of use my brain adapted and now I don't even notice it. In FPS gaming, it does seem to give a little more of an immersive wrap-around effect. For regular productivity work and internet browsing the curve is a little more noticable, but unless you're looking for it most of the time it's like it's not even there. The curve is something I definitely wouldn't pay more for, but it's not really a detriment either. All in all, a solid monitor. The only other gripes I have about it are the loud clicky buttons and the extremely bright and annoying LED power light, but I rarely have to use the buttons and the light is currently covered by electric tape. If you can catch this monitor at a good price and you're planning to stick with 1080p for a while, don't hesitate to buy it.

Came with dead pixels and damaged twice.
I purchased this monitor because of its design and recent price for a good looking monitor. It came in the mail with a plethora a dead pixels. I returned it and purchased another one because besides from the dead pixels i still really liked the monitor. The second one also came with dead pixels and some shipping damage. I will return and not buy from sceptre again. They have great reviews and maybe i was unlucky twice im a row but they earned a bad reputation from me.

Nice! 144hz = 144fps capable! Must have DP
Great monitor for any pc that can generate more than 60 frames per second consistently, up to the maximum 144fps that this monitor will allow
