Desert Boat - since 1950 - stationed in Burma, invented Nathan Clark during the 2nd World War the clarks Desert Boat. This was inspired by the rough suede boots made on the Cairos basar for the English army. This shoe has revolutionised the shoe market since then.

Not what I expected
When I write "not what I expected" I mean just that. As a lot of users here have posted, the sizing is all wrong you have to go a whole size down.I'm normally a size 8 but as I bought a 7 and 8 as I buy online and could not try them on, it was a massive difference and even then the 7 still feels big. I had to buy insoles just to make it feel comfortable and its still a little loose. They look good and all but wearing them is another matter. Their other line of shoes are so comfortable and snug yet these iconic boots are so badly designed/made they are not the 100 or so pounds they charge. One last detail which really niggles me is the sole lining, it seems to be leather but only just goes over half past your foot, the rest feels like reinforced cardboard! What a shame
