Maui Jim Polarized Men's and Women's Hot Sands Rimless Sunglasses

I have been wearing Ray-Ban Aviators for the last 30 years and my wife talked me in to trying some Maui Jim's. I went to one of the "chain" sunglass stores and tried on several pairs and finally decided on the Hot Sands model. I was concerned about the quality of the optics of the plastic lenses when compared to the glass lenses of my Aviators. This was a needless concern, the optics are quite excellent! I did find that the fit was tight on the sides of my head when trying them on, the man at the store told me I could heat them with a hair dryer and bend them to adjust the fit. I found this any easy fix. They are very light weight and comfortable with excellent optics. Highly recommend. If they last 10 years (which is what I usually get out of a pair of Aviators) I will be thrilled.

I've always been a big fan of Maui Jim glasses, but my pair with glass lenses aren't really suitable for activities like running and cycling, so I've previously just bought cheap sport sunglasses. After yet another pair seemed to just fall to pieces for no reason, I decided it was time to bite the bullet and buy a pair of quality sport sunglasses. Most of Maui Jim's products are more tailored to general leisure activities, so I was originally looking at other brands, but came across these while looking online, and my previous experience with the quality of the brand was a big factor in buying them. The optics of the poly-carbonate polarized lenses are exactly what I've come to expect from Maui Jim - fantastic - and the bronze tint works well in a huge range of light conditions from overcast to bright sunlight. They're light, supremely comfortable, and the sticky nose pads and temple grips ensure they don't slip while working out. They're also understated enough, that they don't look ridiculous for casual wear. If you want a pair of sport sunglasses with polarized lenses that offer fantastic clarity and contrast in a range of light conditions then look no further.

They fit good and keep the sun out of your eyes. The last ones I had lasted 17 years!! They are also very light, so they don’t hurt when you are wearing them.

Had these about 10 days or so. I use them for running, for driving, and casual wear. I bought the rootbeer frames with bronze lenses. Overall, I think they are great glasses. Pros Phenomenal lenses - everything is sharper and depth perception in particular is remarkable. The colors are a bit deeper with the lenses on. Great HD effect. Frame doesn't slip around - as I mentioned, I use these for running and they are rock solid No fog - I tend to have issues when I run with glasses fogging up. So far, these have been great, including on early morning damp runs. Very impressed with how resistant they are to fogging. Much better than the Smiths and even Rudy Projects I've worn in the past. Looks - They are very flattering glasses (for me) and they can be worn out on the town not just for sports. Extremely versatile Cons I have a big noggin and these feel a bit tight. The arms grab just behind my ears. Not terribly hard (and it does help keep them in place) but I can definitely notice it. Also,not crazy about the nose piece as it pushes the frame a bit too far off my face. This leaves a gap on the bottom of my glasses which is a bit annoying. Light also leaks in the sides a bit. And the top is visible if I'm riding a bike and slightly crouched. Basically, frames are a bit small for me...but given all the positives, I decided to stick with them. I did wonder whether middles might be better for me because the lenses are larger. But these also look great, so I'm staying put.

Second pair I have owned. First was to scratched to use anymore. Love them, fit and feel great, nice and dark, look great. Wish they weren't so much $$, but you get what you pay for.

I only wear Maui Jim’s. My last pair lasted 5 years and when they finally cracked on the rim, I looked for the same pair. Unfortunately Maui had discontinued them. I’m very particular when it comes to my sunglasses. I hated to have to find another pair. These were closest to it. Well, I love these even more. They are expensive but well worth the money. I love the lenses being polarized. Extremely happy with my purchase.

I was concerned the tint would let in too much light based on the product advertisements, but the grey tint is nice and dark. (You wouldn't want to wear them indoors.) They are expensive, but you get nice polarization (vs the cheapy brands that distort colors), and they look good on most faces. I think they look best on men, but women could definitely look good in them. Medium sized sunglasses, which are a bit larger than the sleeker, smaller cat eyed look.

Ich habe lange eine Sonnenbrille gesucht, die mir genau passen würden. Diese Brille ist perfekt, sehr komfortabel, bewegt sich auf meinem gesicht nicht sogar beim laufen. Ausserdem ist est toll, dass die Brille polarisiert ist - die Sicht ist wirklich wunderbar, die Farben sind eigentlich lebendiger als ohne der Brille was ich vorher kaum glauben würde!

Excellent sunglasses these one of the best this is now my seventh pair of Maui Jims. I like these as they tend to not slide off your nose I am a cyclist I need them to stay in place I actually prefer the smaller version which is called river jetty but you can't get those anymore and in fact even these were very hard to get, I really like the plastic lens in these very clear vision through them and they are very light you hardly know you are wearing them.

Ces lunettes protège correctement du soleil et tiennent parfaitement bien sur le nez et derrière les oreilles, pas besoin de les remettre en place toutes les 2 min quand on fais de la course a pied (ça change par rapports à mes Ray-Ban carbone précédentes).
